mercutio: try making a phone call (to anywhere), i've found that can help make txt messages come through.

Yup been there as well.. trying to make a call or even going into flight mode and back online again.. gets the network to push through the messages (but making a call would be a bit difficult if its dropped off the network)

Now keeping in mind that this is just a work around, I would suggest trying out another 2 Degrees simcard & also a vodafone sim in this phone and see if it does the same. If it still does.. then its the phone but if it doesnt then its "most likely" the network...

Hiya,
I purchased an Xperia U from Hong Kong recently and to the OP if the firmware installed on the phone is the .162 version then it is a software issue not a hardware nor 2degrees issue. As the .162 firmware across multiple Xperia device's is bugged. I would lose connectivity at least once or twice a day, had to restart phone to solve it then text myself for some reason to make the texts come through. .184 firmware is supposed to fix any connectivity issues. Something you should check :)

Thanks.

PS: I find the roaming on Vodafone is wee bit annoying sometimes, as sometimes it will be stuck on 2degrees but emergency calls only but waiting 10 seconds or so and it will migrate to Vodafone roaming.
