I'm using a 2degrees SIM in a car GPS tracker - is there any way to receive email (rather than TXT) notifications that my balance is low?  The device only recognises formatted commands, so will ignore all other messages.

I've signed up for "Your 2degrees" and entered my contact details, but I can't find any option to enable email notifications.

Auto top up is probably the best option, so it automatically topups when your balance is low. http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/prepay/topping-up/auto-top-up

Not sure about the email notifications (however i have never heard of them).

Hi, unfortunately not for low balances.

To make sure your balance is kept topped up I'd advise setting Auto-top-up on 'Just top me up'.
That way when the balance gets below $2.50 we'll top-up your account automatically, without having to send a reply.

If you've got a data pack running I would set an Monthly Auto-Top-Up the day BEFORE your pack expires to make sure your'e always on the better value pack.  I'd also advise to check your balances in Your 2degrees towards the end of the month to see if you need any extra top-up.

Here's more info - http://www.2degreesmobile.co.nz/prepay/topping-up/auto-top-up

It would be great to be able to receive emails with data usage alerts etc too. I use a prepay SIM in my iPad, I have no idea what's happening with my 3G usage or top ups unless I log in to the 2degrees site (which is a little clunky on iPad, I find often the pop up buttons don't work correctly, have to log out and in again). Being able to get top up history for more than 1 month at a time would be very useful.

If alerts can not be emailed, perhaps the text alerts could be sent to another mobile number?

Oh, while on the subject, would it be possible to put the account number or phone number as a reference number on bank statements? We have 3 2degrees devices, and it's impossible to tell which has topped up from our bank account statement.

Cheers,
Joseph
