Not that I'm legally able to smoke... but no one would say they want a pack of gum at the checkout Just seems supermarkets got that much "super"... slightly hypermarket? At least there isn't much to say if 2degrees products ended up that those new-ish The Warehouse extra stores. Find me on Twitter! I posted 1, 2 x 10^3 times!

Worse still, imagine taking your handset to New World for repair Why not sell $1000 phones, they sell $1000 bottles of wine, which are security radio clamped and locked in a cupboard. But I don't think 2 Degrees will be selling many of those, the ones are the supermarket will be basic phone phones, you can already buy small appliances at the supermarket, the Foodtown in Quay Street here in Auckland sells microwaves, and heaters and other small electrical appliances. Why not phones? It's not like they are such a new technology nowdays, and if your buying one for $79, who really cares. Use it for a year or two until it breaks then buy another one. It's the convenience of getting it at your supermarket. I imagine returns will be handled by the store after a call to the 2 Degrees to confirm it's faulty. I remember 2 Degree's saying something like a normal person goes to the supermarket 1-3 times a week or so, unlike a mobile phone shop that is a special trip. Not sure why there is all this excited chatter about cellphones being sold in supermarkets as if it is new/novel. They only sell bottom of the barrel appliances at supermarkets - the likes that even briscoes etc dont sell. I havent seen anything from them at the supermarket yet - thats a pak n save and a new world on the shore.. when do the displays go up? Richard rich.ms

You can buy pre paid mobiles in Oz at certain supermarkets .... been like that for years.

2degrees: Chinwag SIMS will be sent out from the 4 August and should have all arrived with their new owners by the 14 August - at the very latest. They will be sent using our good 'ole New Zealand postal service. Cheers! 2degrees oh man! i thought the point of the chinwag thing was to get the sims nice an early so they can be used on day 1? I guess the people who want custom numbers have to buy a sim so that they dont miss out on the number they want.

Those who I told last week about getting the T-Mobile SIM cards... 3 arrived in my mailbox today, ordered under Sam M*** Samuel M*** and a checky name, John Thomas. :D so 6 working days for a free SIM from the UK, Looks like 2Degree's has something else to perhaps go by? jk. lol maybe instead of people using a pay phone, they go by a cheap disposible phone like they have in the US, why dont we have those over here? I had a (horrible) prepaid Ericsson A1228d on Telecoms 025 network that cost me $100 with $90 credit. Of course calls cost $0.89 a minute to Telecom and $1.39 to Vodafone. You paid by the minute to check your voicemail. Texting (when in digital coverage) cost $0.20 each and calling was per minute not per second (Damn you Vodafone for changing to this).

Me too, I just received an email from 2Degrees telling me to get ready because they will txt me when my sim gets posted tomorrow. :D. I think the only thing I've been this excited about was when I was waiting for the 2.0 iPhone update. fun fun fun. not. Got realeased the day after and I was sad. :'( Cant wait!
