OK so I am over in the US of A on holiday. My cunning plan was to buy myself a T-Mobile SIM and forward my 2degrees number to my T-Mobile number, hopefully incurring 22cNZ + 10cUS for incoming calls and 10cUS for outgoing instead of $1NZ in and $4.39NZ out. Getting the SIM card was not a problem, but trying to implement the forwarding was. Q1: can you use 21number# to implement forwarding once you are already roaming, or does this only work when you are in your home network. (It seemed to work fine while I was at home, but now while roaming I get "not allowed". Q2: Does anyone know if there are problems with texts from T-Mobile at the moment. The 2degrees website suggests things should be OK, but when I text home (all 021 on 2degrees so far) they don't go through. Ta

Are you using +6421 or 021 because you should be using +6421.

I did some local testing here on Monday by forwarding my Voda number to my 2D and XT numbers. Normal voice calls forwarded OK but SMS stayed on Voda network and never forwarded.. Regards, Old3eyes

johnr: Setting up diverts while roaming will work Thanks John, Should it be just with the standard GSM codes (ie 21number to divert to#)? I will try again. I was texting to +6421XXX. Spent 20+ mins on a call with T-Mobile customer service - eventually they went through the networks in NZ that they support - several Telecom (I think it was paging, CDMA and XT), Telstra and Vodafone, but no 2degrees. Strange, because on 2degrees website it says that texting from T-Mobile is supported. I will update if I get these sorted. Edit and PS: The free pxting on the T-Mobile plan is awesome, can send pxts to facebook and email contacts for free.

Update: Someone must have hit the switch on texting because it started working yesterday. Tried again to set up diverts both using 21number# and using the call settings in the phone. Both times I got "Not Allowed"

Like I have said elsewhere - MT messaging towards our network is largely outside our control; if it's getting to us we deliver it. Cheers S iPad + iPhone 4S + 2degrees 3G data 4tw! I don't think you can forward to numbers outside of NZ? HTC One X (AOKP Jelly Bean), on 2degrees

Have a look at http://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=39&topicid=62833 for forwarding txt messages to another phone, but they are Symbian only. Trademe for an old Symbian phone perhaps?
