2DegreesCare: Hi Greg

Thanks for the feedback. Auto Top-Up was on when the multiple top-ups were made. ATU makes it easier for the data user to carry on their sessions without the worry of the pack running out and using the more expensive casual data.

I can appreciate this is little comfort if the ATU's are repeating while you think your iPad is using Wi-fi or switched off but as JohnR suggests this may be an issue with the iPad that you'd need to take up with Apple.

While we look into this further on our side I'd advise to keep a close eye on your data usage in Your 2degrees - https://secure.2degreesmobile.co.nz/web/ip/login - to see if you're getting a charged for data sessions at the times you know it's turned off or connected to Wi-Fi. That would point to a problem with the iPad itself.

hi
when i put the first credit on the account & said yes to saving my credit card details, i did not know that auto top was also being enabled.

for your second point, the cellular service was enable at the time this happened and at the same time connected to the wireless network.
my biggest concern was that this activity could have gone on all week & racked up thousands of dollars in data charges with no way of a user knowing that is happening.

as i said i now have the cellular service disabled

Greg

n4: Most likely your iPad is not staying connected to Wifi while sleeping:

my ipad2 does seam to stay connected as you can here it go beep when it downloads email

Areyou sure it's not downloading emails over mobile data anyway? Most smartphones won't connect to wiFi unless in an active state (screen on) to save power, relying on mobile data.

I had my ipad powered right off, and think it was still using data, don't have phone verson, but the wireless light was still flashing on router. It stopped flashing when I powered ipad up and disabled wireless in ipad setttings, may be coincidence.
