Is anyone from 2 degrees able to comment on what happens if the official Gingerbread update breaks the phone? Is it covered by warranty still or do we have to wait till 2 degrees decide to release it officially here? I am thinking of flashing the b528 rom found here:
http://www.huaweidevice.com/cn/downloadCenter.do?method=toDownloadFile&flay=software&softid=NDEyNTU=
And the atmel touchscreen fix released on tuesday from the huawei BBS:

I am just not sure whether it is worth it if this is still not the final release after b522 was pulled. It is apparently the universal edition so includes english language too.

Hmmm. No sure about the warranty on the official GB for the u8800 but I have moved on to Ice Cream Sandwich and loving it.

DZO has done a great job of the ROM and it is suitable for everyday use.

It would be a long bow to draw by 2 degrees if an official update from the phone manufacturer was to void your warranty....

Cheers, Matt.

Obviously ice cream works well on it?

I have updated to 2.3. Have you got a link on how to update the U8800 to Ice cream sammy?
