Topic # 103522 8-Jun-2012 22:16 Send private message

Just had a text from a friend and also my father who I sent a single message too (i.e. one message each) at 6.52pm tonight. They have received that same message four times. Once at the sent time, and then 8pm, 9pm and 10pm.

Just checked the usage on the 2D website and I have only sent the one message to each person ..

Any ideas?

I'm on 2Degrees (ported Vodafone number).
Sent a text to a Telecom XT number and the recipient received it twice after the original was received.

The original text was sent and received at 4.34pm.
The second time it was received at 5.55pm.
Third time, 6.56pm.

Something's up.

Thanks! Hadn't looked on FB yet (doh!) Made the mistake of trying to find a network status on the 2deg website first - what was I thinking!

Another update from 2Degrees:

Hi everyone, the issues with SMS have now been resolved, there may be some duplicate messages still if your phone has been turned off and then switched on. Once again, we are really sorry for the inconvenience and are looking into how we make sure it doesn't happen again. Thanks for your patience. ^MP

Hi guys (thanks for not swearing.. yet!)

If you have been charged for the multiple texts we'll look into and credit you. If it's urgent please call us on 0800 022022 or 200 from your 2degrees phone. Otherwise please send me a PM we'll add the credit within 3 working days -

1. Your 2degrees number
2. The number you were texting and number of multiple texts sent.
3. The time and date you sent the text.
4. Your DOB and address so we can identify you. If you haven't already please update your details in Your 2degrees - https://secure.2degreesmobile.co.nz/web/ip/login. (This helps to let you know of our exclusive offers too!)

Once again we're sorry to the inconvenience caused.
