Hey Guys

Finally, time to kick back the chair and pour myself a beer :)

As you may know, I'm the tame Geek at a Chch Engineering firm.

Since the Februray quake I've been busy puttiing (and keeping) our systens back in place

As of tonight, I think we are back on our feet. All our systens and running, and all our users have their computers and tools :)

Phew :)

Its still all done on bit of strings and number 8 wire. Just as wellmy hard hat has mickey mouse ears on it,

So tell me Gents - Just how good do you think your disaster is ?

And Man, My heart goes out to the Japanese :(

The key is not just having a DR solution in place, its testing it regularly to make sure it actually works the way you want it to, ideally with auto fail-over and fail-back.

I guess it's the cost of DR that deters many companies from having it, although you should really be asking yourself what the price of not having it would be.
