michaelmurfy: Something along the lines of "Offpeak every night for $20 per month" would be awesome for us, but yes, compared to other ISP's things are getting a tad expensive now. I must say though - I have used about 180gb of Google/Youtube this month which means we are using far less data, of which other ISP's don't offer. We will see! I'm sure as always Snap have something up their sleeves. Yea im hoping for something like $20 unlimited offpeak as well. My next billing cycle starts tomorrow so would be nice to see some new plans today :-)

insane: McGee: insane: If only we had this sort of competition in other industries PETROL That was actually what I was thinking when I wrote that :) Without going to far OT (hopefully), I think the reason petrol is so uncompetitive is not the retail, but the fact that they all own the refinery, do some shell (excuse the pun) company shenanigans and then charge the same price to themselves, with little or no margin for retail. Eg ($ are probably a little sketchy/old but illustrates the point). Shipped to NZ by "Oil Company international" with a cost to pull it out of the ground and send it to NZ = $0.20c per litre, sold to refinery at $1.50L, who turn it into the petrol + by products and then they sell it to the petrol station at $2.00L, who sell it to you at $2.10L. So the problem isn't the petrol stations per-se it is more that the international holding company can sell to the NZ subsidiary at vastly inflated prices, meaning that there is no profit and therefore tax paid on those profits in NZ. Very clever business and a good reason to buy shares in the international oil company, but not necessarily the NZ subsidiary. Anyway, back on topic. I am interested in Snap if their plans change over the next month or so (when I need to make a decision). Jon

I must say though - I have used about 180gb of Google/Youtube this month which means we are using far less data, of which other ISP's don't offer. Which awesome Google service am I missing out on?? I surf Youtube daily, and upload the odd video, but seldom use more than 10GB a month.

I just spoke to one of the guys there. As it stands, I am on a promotional plan, but if I switch over to one of the At Home plans or Naked, I can get those extra data packs.
