I downloaded about 5gb worth of Steam content from Orcon's servers but all seems to have been counted against my data balance?

Any news on when this will be back online? The steam summer sales will be starting any day now.

Hey guys,

Our replacement hardware has arrived!!
Exciting news, is that this gives us over 8TB of storage available for Steam content!

All that needs to happen now, is for Steam to authorise the new server and add it back into the distributed cache network. This should happen any day now!

Cheers for the update, Ralph.
Good to hear of the new kit, sounds awesome.

RalphFromSnap: Hi All,

Sorry about the delay, but yes there is a known issue with our Steam server at the moment, technicians are working on this but there is no ETA as of yet. for the moment steam data from TCL and Orcon will not be counted towards your cap, so if you are downloading choose one of those servers. we also realise you will not get the same speeds as you would have off the Snap server, but we are working on it.

Thanks

Now, what about those whom downloaded from TCL and/or Orcon and still got charged for data?

Hey Guys,

Still waiting on Steam to populate the server. I'll chat with the support team involved and get them to update or request more information from Steam!

I tried downloading one of the games i purchased during the sale and found that it was counting towards my data cap. I had even set the server to Orcon. I've emailed Snap about it and with some luck I hope to get a refund. They said they're still not sure when their server will be populated.

You guys might want to check out the thread on Orcons page regarding Steam too.

Also have to remember unless you've hard set your computer to get from ONE cache only by using firewall rules or similar to limit the Steam client from accessing other caches then you can't say with 100% certainty that you were using Orcons cache in this example.

It could be just as easily pulling the content from a server based in Australia even if you've set the preference as being Orcon / TCL / Snap

That must be what happened. My router says that I downloaded about 1.4gb tonight, and I think my data cap has been deducted about 7-800 mb. So roughly 600mb must have come from the Orcon server. I'll give Steam-Limiter a try to see if it helps.

I downloaded Saints Row last night from the Orcon server. I know it was Orcon because if you click 'Play' whilst the game is downloading it will show you which server you're downloading from.

The 9GB was counted against my cap... so beware!
