I went onto a new DLM... CRC's through the roof, but speed is better. I'm not fussed really.

Hey, does anyone who has been on DLM-1 for more than a week have a CRCPM higher than 2? So far the highest sustained CRCPM I've seen on the new limit is 2 which was stevehodge, but then he had some other issues - are you still on DLM-1 Steve?

Still on DLM-1, but since the last (unscheduled but non-DLM) resync my CRC error rate is down to 0.23. It's been up 3 weeks so far. I still have the SNRM target set to 14db, might try putting it back to max performance.

Did your sync rate drop during the resync? Also, what was your CRCPM before the resync?

SamF: Did your sync rate drop during the resync? Also, what was your CRCPM before the resync? I found a post from the 29th of November where my sync rate was 42776 and CRC error rate was 2. That connection was up for 28 days. I then had about 3 days on a weird connection with very low SNRM, sync rate of 49576 and CRC error rate of 6 or more. My current connection (24 days old so far) has sync rate of 44936 and CRC error rate of 0.22. So my sync rate is higher and my error rate is lower.

Another DLM change this morning, looks like I might be on DLM-2 now: Higher sync yet again, however I must say that I'm not particularly happy with the CRC error rate. Then again, I think 49mbits is probably pushing the line's limits somewhat. Speedtest results are up accordingly as well: Also, check out that table top downstream graph! That is one flat line!! Very happy with the overall connection quality!

Just got back from holiday to see vdsl is connected, errors seem to be quite high? Otherwise very happy. Also uptime is 6 days 15 hours

@HowickDota: I guess you're on Santa's nice list after all! :D Yeah, those errors are a concern. Recently the acceptable error rate (CRC's Per Minute - CRCPM) on DLM-1 has been increased, although we're not sure what the actual limit is (it's somewhere between 3 and 10 with only 3 confirmed). Keep us posted on your ongoing results! Your attenuation is very good; you must be quite close to the cabinet, however, given that fact, the errors are definitely high. What's your internal wiring setup? Are you on naked VDSL?

I requested the vdsl switch to be to naked as well but the phone lines are still connected (I can make calls), I won't get it changed right away because I'm going away again and only my dad is at home so I wouldn't be there to help him get voip set up. I believe the internal wiring is a daisy chain? We just have phone ports around the house.

Right, so unless you have a VDSL capable splitter, the additional phone jacks, and possibly the POTS signal itself, will be causing issues. Phone jacks can be daisy chained (in-line) or distributed (star), or a combination of both. The best option is to either install a splitter, or connect the VDSL router directly to the incoming line and disconnect all other sockets.

Just shows even without the best internal wiring setup he is still getting pretty good line just with a few errors which are not that big of a concern. You could do a quick test though an unhook the daisy chain and plug modem directly into the first socket and see if the errors go down.
