My Snap VDSL is head and shoulders above the performance listed here. I get 40Mbps internationally with multi-part downloads and often >20Mbit single thread... It's clearly not a simple Snap or Orcon issue.

I had been annoyed I was only 750m from a UFB zone but now I'm stoked I'm on Snap's VDSL instead.

We have UFB being connected on Thursday with Snap. I will do some tests to see if we have the same problems.

We had UFB connected yesterday, unfortunately we're only getting 20mbit/20Mbit (local traffic) on a 100Mbit plan.

Snap said to wait 48 hours to see if it fixes itself before they will log a fault.

Lorenceo: Is Chorus doing handover dimensioning again with UFB connections?

There is no handover dimensioning of UFB. The headline speeds are all EIR though, with no CIR. CIR's on all plans are only used by corectly tagged traffic, which is exactly how EUBA works. My blog post on this details exactly how this all works if you don't understand it.

The tech just left after connecting our UFB 100/50 connection. This is downloading that snap testfile:

1 thread: 5911.53 KB/s
4 threads: 8811.15 KB/s

Seems to be ok, could be faster in some instances (like downloading from Microsoft at <1MB/s), but overall it seems quicker than VDSL

Can you do some internationals?

Don't bother with speedtest.net as it seems to be cached...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but both tests seems to be cached..

My speeds to 149.20.4.69 are also maxing out my line. Prior it was abysmal on single threads.

We're in Albany (North Shore), as far as I can see there's no proxy in between us and that server

For reference...

Snap VDSL:

Haven't tried multiple threads but I get line speed (~4MB/s) from other servers with multi part downloads.
