Current and proposed retail price caps (in eurocents):

                          Current  1 July 2012 1 July 2013 1 July 2014
Data (per MB)         None        90 cents   70 cents    50 cents
Calls made (/min)   35 cents   32 cents   28 cents    24 cents
Calls received (/mn) 11 cents  11 cents   10 cents    10 cents
SMS (per SMS)        11 cents   10 cents   10 cents    10 cents

Also proposing revised wholesale caps and "structural remedies" (rather than price caps) from 2016.

several of those proposed 'regulated' prices for European roaming data are actualy more expensive than NZers pay today to roam to ozzie.

If the rates are based on some form of cost+ model, thn it would seem that SMS and calling (SMS especially) seem to be where the grand rip-off actually occurs for roaming, not data (anymore)

Well, I won't argue about SMS, but I will note that our Australia roaming calling rates are already cheaper than our competitors rates at home in NZ.* :-)

*Unless you're on Vodafone's 1100 minutes/month plan, in which case it's a whole 1c/min more expensive to call, and still cheaper to receive. I am not sure about Telecom's business plans, they're a little hard to find on the web site.
