Doesn't seem extreme, ~$65 per staff member per month for work is not usual. I mean many regular consumers are on $80-100 plans for personal use only. Wonder who will win the tender.

Government agencies seem to be paying particularly excessive prices for mobile data. According to the DIA figures they are spending $6.8 million, or 11% of their total annual mobile spend, on data, equating to $247 per GB. Vodafone currently offers its post-paid customers a 1GB data add-on for $20 per month. That's what worries me the most. I bet these people get given smartphones and have no idea how to use them and how to make sure they use their data properly. Who cares, right...

Telstra have just recently announced in Australia they will shape mobile data rather than charge per MB when usage is exceeded until the user buys more. Would love to see that here to prevent bill shock.

Traffic shaping is horrible, they never get it right, when they limit you to 64K it feels significantly worse than dialup. Speedtests I have done on rate limited connections never reflect the limited speed.

It's not supposed to work well, only prevent bill shock for people not realising they are racking up charge per MB costs for data usage. Alternatively they could just prevent data usage like when pre pay credit runs out.
