I got one from the US and it flew pass my S3 in term of speed.
Project butter is really smooth. I've configured it and then send it back to the US for my sister over there as her gift :)

Bought a second one from the US but shipping to my sister address, my mum will be bringing it back to NZ for me.
Anyone interested in getting from the US with NZ credit card or PayPal?
$250USD for the 16GB version from www.adorama.com

Last week or so JB had a late night sale and the Nexus 7s were sold for $397NZ. Very tempting price even I have already had 2 lol.

Got one of these yesterday, that arrived in "plain brown packaging" from the US - sans all cables though (but, the price was right, so I'm not upset at all). Any suggestions for a good quality AC wall charger for this?

Also, any suggestions for a magnetic cover?

Hey, sorry but this is annoying..

Got a Nexus 7 - downloaded firefox beta to view flash content. Have somehow managed to "pair" the tablet with the Vaio laptop so that every time anyone in the family tries to log into Gmail thru firefox on the vaio my log in details default in.

I've tried clearing cookies, passwords and all sortsa other stuff but nothing has worked.

Can someone pls advise how I break this connection so that Firefox goes back to normal log in mode??

Oddly Chrome on the Vaio unaffected and still wants log in details every time.

Simply disable browse sync or uninstall firebox.

Seakiwi: latest system update allows homescreen in landscape mode

A little laggy than the previous firmware but touch sensitivity still not good.

Still love the nexus7 even after all these issues :)

Bought one of these, which is actually very good, and the build quality is fairly decent.

The Nexus 7 is $399 at playtech until tomorrow. I am very tempted but it would be yet another toy that doesn't really have a solid purpose.

Both the 32Gb and 3G versions will be upon us soon.  Might pay to wait! :)

Do you think any local retailers will have the LG Nexus 4 for sale?

Just got one of these as a gift and looking to pick up a few extras. Is there a recommended online store or ebay/trademe merchant to buy an OTG cable and Steinheil screen protector?

Thanks

NEXUS 7 does not support OTG, well at least on stock ROM without root anyway. Replace kernel or ROM if you want OTG. No need screen protector, all you need is a casing. Ebay is a good place but get the one with magnet.

Oh and MHL is not possible :)
Got Nexus 7 for quite sometimes now and been using it everyday.

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I will get around to rooting it when I get myself an OTG cable :)

I was just going to get a screen protector because I want to just be able to chuck it in my pocket without the extra bulk of a case. My S2 does fine with just a protector on it :)

Cheers

Stock Nexus 7 does support USB Host mode. I use a OTG cable to connect it to my Canon DSLR.

It does not however support external HDD's via OTG without a root.
