So after many leaks, the LG Optimus G is officially announced.

Not that the particular phone interests me. It's the internals i want.
the APQ8064 is a quad core S4. 4 krait cores, the same ones where two of them can give the quad core tegra 3 and exynos 4 a run for their money. And now there is four. This thing could have up to twice the speed of existing quads! Plus the Adreno 320 too!
And LTE. And 2GB of ram. 720p 4.7" screen, 13MP camera, 2100mah battery...

Assuming the separate baseband chip doesn't suck battery, something like this sounds like a suitable next device :D

This is looking like my next phone.

Although - no mention of NFC?

A 13mp sensor on a phone is ridiculous, I wish they'd concentrate on improving the sensor quality on the things (higher ISO etc), didn't they get the memo about the megapixel war being over?

"You are" = "You're" - Not "Your".  "They are" = "They're" - Not "Their" or "There".  You probably mean "lose" not "loose".  There's no such word as "Alot".

Internals look interesting, but I'm never, ever, jumping on an LG handset without seeing some others thoroughly road test it first. Historically the most heinous software optimisation going, and amongst the worst pedigrees for OS updates too.

Caveat emptor.

LG have seriously lifted their game as far as phones is concerned. The LG Optimus 3D Max is a wildly better and different beast to the LG Optimus 3D of just 9 months prior.

I own both. The improvement is nothing short of dramatic.  Updates are now OTA instead of PC based.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy a top LG Android phone now. I took a bit of a punt on the 3D Max....but I couldn't be happier. It's an awesome phone.
