We inherited a Samsung Galaxy Tab from a friend. It's basically a 7" Samsung Galaxy S. A tablet that's really a full blown phone.

It was released almost 2 years ago with Android 2.2.. The spec is still respectable: 1Ghz uni-processor, a GB of RAM and 2GB of internal app storage.

By the time I got it it had been rooted, and upgraded to a custom Android 2.3. It's been really good.

Yesterday, I found that there is an AOKP Android 4.0 ROM for it ("Build 40"). It may be the end of the road for the Kang Project for Android 4.0 as the links to subsequent builds ("Milestone 6") are all dead.

But everything seems to work: phone, txt, camera, wifi, 3G. It's all good.

So if you have one of these or find one in your possession, at least you know you can get a good ICS ROM for it.

I've got JB running on mine, it's surprisingly stable and reliable despite being an "alpha" version.

There's an official CyanogenMod 9 tree for it, but I found the AOKP builds to be a bit more stable.

Great little tablet, excellent build quality, mine has survived being run over by a car (don't ask) with only minor damage to the casing and not a mark on the screen.

"You are" = "You're" - Not "Your".  "They are" = "They're" - Not "Their" or "There".  You probably mean "lose" not "loose".  There's no such word as "Alot".

I'm holding off on Jelly Bean for a while. I still use Flash....

I loaded CM9 on to one of these about a week or so ago. Seems to be working quite well - no issues so far.

The only thing I can really comment on is that the settings menu was a bit hard for my dad to see (grey on dark grey) so I loaded a touchwiz theme onto it to make it a bit easier to see and give it more of a samsung feel again.

Also using apex launcher as we found it to be a bit better than the stock one.

Flash works fine on JB, you just have to side-load the APK.
