that will be the announcement date, not the release date.

release date will likely be 1-2 months after that judging by previous history

I'll be interested to see how Mr Cook explains that the ideal size for a phone screen isn't 3.5" any more. Especially since that has been the party line since 2007.
What is it about Wednesdays in the US? Nokia this week, Apple next week and HTC on the 19th.

Edit:  Came straight to this thread from the homescreen and didn't realise what forum it was posted in.  Shouldn't it be in iOS or otherwise it is just trawling for trolls Undecided.

Not unreasonable given that many of those after an iPhone would now be holding fire for the new release

Whatever the size is I bet Apple have already lodged a patent for it Money Mouth (Sorry couldn't resist).

Seriously though it will be interesting to see what new innovations they can come up with.  There is nothing like competition.

Tee Hee.  Maybe they have, or paid the patent licence fee if owned by another.

Seriously though, I can't see there being any, or much future innovation as far as hardware is concerned, no matter who the manufacturer is. I feel its now all about the OS. Even then, they are all good.

Plenty of options for everybody

Yeah, sorry, a bit slow.  I didn't realise Apple had the patent for Holy Wars as well.  Latest shot fired, I see, is Samsung threatening to injunct the iPhone 5 (or 'new iPhone' or whatever it is called) if it has LTE onboard.

I think they need to release new phones twice a year now to keep up with the features of the competition.

Whatever it is I hope its great so other manufacturers have to improve, only good for us consumers at the end of the day.

I'm also having the guys at work on about screen size as they have been saying for over a year they don't want or need a bigger screen, surprisingly they are quiet on the subject now.

Maybe the human thumb has increased in length over the last few months hence necessitating the need for a massive 4inch screen?

Anyway I thought Samsung released the iPhone5 back in May earlier this year?

Saw on Twitter this morning that goophone (sp?) were going to sue apple for copying their iphone5 knockoff once released lol
