kiwijunglist: BigHammer: 850/1900/2100 is NOT what you'd call Vodafone 'compatible'. If you are on Vodafone, get the UMTS 900/2100 model. The UMTS 850/1900/2100 MHz model will not work where Vodafone only has 900MHz 3G coverage, which is quite a chunk of their network. It still can be used on vodafone network but is not ideal, it would be fine for main centres. This is why I wrote ideally you should use the 900 3G model. I suppose I could of written Limited Vodafone Compatibility. You really have to stop even saying this, it's simply confusing. If people haver to ask if a device is compatabile the answer is either YES or NO. Any 50/50 answer is just setting up problems down stream. (It's a bit like saying you'll only get colour pictures on your Tele in the big cities, but Black and White everywhere else.... But I still recommend you buy one!!! )

Mauricio, Now that you've had this fone for a week or two what is your opinion of it. Is it a good replacement for a Samsung GS1. My wife's SGS1 since it had the official A2.3.3 update has started shutting down at random and if I can't sort it by way of factory default this fone looks like a good value replacement if you add a 16Gig SC card to it.. . It's a good phone, responsive and certainly worth of looking at for a mid-level replacement. It's not a fast proc like the latest models but good for the system. Remember the screen is a pain under the sun though. I just bought my brother one of these phones when DSE Queensgate had 10% off last week (Thanks Paulthagerous for the heads up) Wondering who else has one and what their experience has been. So far I've only run one benchmark on the device which was Sunspider and the phone scored a pretty healthy 1700ms One thing that isn't clear from the specs is the SoC that the device uses. After some research I have found that it is running the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Play - Play being the key word here, it is a dual core Cortex A5 based processor, meaning it is not as powerful as Cortex A9 based SoCs. I'm not sure about multimedia capabilities either as the device was unable to smoothly play 1080p video recorded on a Galaxy S3. It doesn't seem to have hardware acceleration for video. freitasm: Shame really. Yeah it's very disappointing as Huawei is an up and coming manufacturer that offer good value for money. If they don't start valuing their customers enough to offer after sales support then they will not become a trustworthy brand.
