Hi team,

Hunting for an Android tablet around the $300 mark. I like the Nexus 7 but it doesn't have HDMI out which I wanted.

So, I found the Samsung 8.9in Tab for $330 but it only come with honeycomb. I've found their is a Cyanogen 10 rom for it but then the HDMI out is rotated the wrong way. Lame

Basically looking for a tablet with a nice screen, 7+ inches, HDMI out, Jellybean or solid JB rom available.

Any suggestions?

Hi

I think the Asus range has an HDMI out.

Stick with the Nexus and get this Micro USB to HDMI

I'd tend to agree, plus it has just dropped in price too.

Sadly, the Nexus 7 doesn't have the MHL chip - otherwise it would be awesome. I'm actually leaning towards the Galaxy 2 7in tab as after an evening of research it seems to do everything....

I have an Ainol Aurora II and am quite happy with it.

Whilst it has hdmi out, it will only display picture but no sound on my older Bravia TV... no problems however with the newer Bravia CX520 or my LG LM6410.

Build is okay, battery life is average but it works fine. Fantastic tablet for $150 :)

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually just purchased the Ainol Crystal from Pandawill for $130NZ including shipping. It seems 'okay' and runs CM10 so that's promising.

Worst case I am sure I can sell it one trademe :)
