Hi All
after listening to the latest nzteck podcast, about how some phones have been so slow to get updates to android, i was wondering how many people use a custom rom on there phone, & what is it.

I have a DHD with jellybean 4.2.1 (Jellytime rom) which works really well.

Im running the latest Wanamlite on my S3, my battery time has gone from 1 day avg on stock rom, to 3 days on wanamlite. Less bloat, faster phone and better battery times, can't really knock that.

I have just installed 4.2.1 on my HTC Sensation [ROM] CM10.1 AOSP 4.2.1 Jellybean [KANG] [Feb-12]

Works rather nice, not found any obvious faults, though  I think battery is draining faster than the 4.0.3 RevolutionHD 6.8.0 ROM I had on before ... but I play with my phone a lot so can't be sure :-)

Rather impressed my phone runs it so well to be honest!

Also on Wanamlite, but on the Note II (N7105). I usually just stay on rooted stock rom and theme and customize the heck out of the UI, but Wanamlite sounded too good not to try out.

Just finished listening to the podcast too actually. The whole 'no one aspires to get an Android' thing caught my attention. I wonder if Bill has really given Android a good go. Took me a good 2 weeks with my Note 1 before I fell in love with Android. Could never go back to iOS now.

International Galaxy S2 running CM10.1 nightlies.
I switch between oem based roms and CM as required. During school holidays or family events I'll often switch back to oem to enable MHL mirroring. I do prefer the stock Android experience, but dislike the fixed batteries and lack of microsd expansion on Nexus devices.

I've been running custom ROMs on my phone for over a year now.

I started off with WanamLite for the SGS2, back when the ICS leaked ROMs were starting to come out. It was certainly better than the stock ROMs as it had most of the bloatware removed. I didn't like all of the additions though, and ended up removing a bunch of stuff with every new release. I also found that some of the modifications that Wanam made were a little buggy, which made the ROM less useable.

I'm now running CyanogenMod, which is completely open source and runs on a wide selection of devices. There are nightly builds and an easy update mechanism, and it's definitely stable enough for daily use.

been on custom Roms since my first Android phone which was a samsung something, then S1, S2 and now S3, won't go back.

Have tried a lot of roms from AOSP, AOKP and CM but prefer AOSP. Was on Omega for a wjile but its like the Android version of fast foodd with the rate they pump new versions out and whilst has all bells and whistles I find it sluggish. Wanaam always good but on CRdroid for a while now and no issues.

I used to flash everything I got my hands on in order to get more and better functionality. But since Android v2.3 there has been little need to flash anything.

Yes, I have flashed two tablets with Android 4.0 custom ROMs as their vendors (Samsung and Lenovo) weren't going to upgrade them.

But my two main phones are 3D phones...and a move to a custom ROM risks breaking the central feature of such a device...so I haven't done it.

Latest Wanamlite ROM here as well. Ran CM on my first Android phone, HTC Desire, then various on my S2 but settled on Wanam these days. Run CM on my 7" Huawei tablet and also on a couple of Acer Transformers at work.

Running MIUI on Galaxy S3 - have tried most frimwares and always go back to MIUI - seems to have a lot of features already baked in, and the theming is awesome.

i think I'm in the minority choosing MIUI though.

Been playing with Slim Bean for a couple of days and it's great and tiny, 94mb download.

Here's the S3 info

Been running custom ROMS pretty much since day one on my trusty Galaxy s1. Went to CM 10.1 for JB  4.2.1 but this coincided with a fault in my GPS. I backed off to JB 4.1 with no GPS improvement. Did the bit of metal in the case GPS fix and now meaning to head to 4.2.1 again. A job for the weekend perhaps.
