Hi. I recently got myself the HTC Magic phone.

Just wanted to find out if anybody here has installed the WaveSecure application and has it working on their phone?

I've downloaded the app and installed it. For some reason whenever I try to lock, track, or do any of the functions from the web application, the phone doesn't act on the command it gets via SMS. The app also allows me to lock the phone via SMS from another phone and that works without any issues.

Have contacted WaveSecure's support team, but so far all thy suggested was a re-install. It would be good to get the full functionality.

The app for Android users is free but is a beta version.

Let me know if anybody here has this app working.

Regards

Harry

Hi Harry,

Yes I have this on my HTC magic and it works great! Don't try the lock and alarm function in a quiet office though... it literally screams!

Hmm. Don't know why I can't get full functionality to work on my phone. Have uninstalled and reinstalled it about 5 times, but same results each time.

Kiwiharry: What version of android is your phone running? They were v1.5 in July, then upgraded over the air to v1.6 in September. If you bought it from someone other than Vodafone directly, it may have some other version of Android on it. You can see the version in the Settings -> About Phone. Scroll down toward the bottom for the kernel version and any Mod version.

Hi Linuxluver. Phone was acquired as an insurance replacement via vodafone's insurer about 3 weeks ago.

The Firmware is 1.6.
Kernel is 2.6.29-00479-g3c7df37
Build is DRC92

Cheers
