yeah im thinking of getting the top one as well as an extra case or screen protector. I've ordered from both these shops before, so no problem with getting ripped off they do a lot of bussiness, occasionally they stuff up orderes (this has never happened to me). Expect to wait anywhere between 10 days and 45 days to get your order. they are both based in Hong Kong. redid the GPS performance test with data turned on, and closer to my wifi router. Average = 9221ms , i'm guessing this is an A-GPS result, and when i did it previously it was just GPS. HTPC - Intel i3-2100 / 12GB / 13TB Storage / HD4670 / HVR2200 / Win 7 x64 + MediaPortal 1.3 Final PC - Intel e8600 / 8GB / HD5830 / Win7 x64

WooHoo!!! So the GPS isn't duff then. Cool. Let us know how it performs on the go. I'm heading out to the movies with my better half later this arvo and I'm going to put it through its paces with a side trip or two. Should be educational. The missus has an iPhone 3Gs which has less than stellar accuracy so it'll be interesting to compare the two. BTW, did you talk to your insurance company about claiming the cracked screen of the SGS against your home and contents policy? Might be worth a go if your excess isn't too horrific. I had a pleasant surprise when I ran over my glasses with the car. (Well running one's glasses over with one's vehicle hardly classifies as a 'pleasant' surprise, but i think you get what I'm saying...) Wasn't expecting them to pony up, but they did. Saved me around $700 (graduated lenses, titanium frame), so I was stoked. Cheers, R2D2 Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation running Jelly Bean 4.1.1, alpha AOSP ROM, on Telecom XT. Rough around the edges but showing much potential considering it's pre-beta. My daily driver now.

I'm going to attempt the Doc_Kalpik 7.6.2 JPO Rom. I will also flash a different modem than the default JPP as that seems to chug power like crazy when using 3g. found this from a post in july on forum.xda so perhaps this is an issue with attempting to root an XT Telecom SGS Mine comes out to I9000TTNZJI1 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- - I can't root because it the update.zip fails to apply in recovery mode and i have android 2.1: This is because you are using a open CSC or a branded phone. So in order to fix this you need to reflash your firmware with the standard CSC and not a localized one. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=787163 Check this thread to change your CSC! Reported CSC's that have rootprotection (if you have a root protected csc please report it): - CSC_I9000OLBJG4 - CSC_I9000GVODDJG1 Reported working CSC's (report if yours is working) - CSC_I9000OXAJM1 - CSC_I9000OXXJM1 - CSC_I9000ODDJG4 - CSC_I9000OJPJG1 - CSC_I9000GVD2JM3 Right now i can't do much about it since i have no rootprotected phone to make a workaround.... so small request lend or sponsor me a root protected phone :P - If you are having problems please post your phones firmware and csc version (you can check it by typing *#1234#)

Went in to DSE and it's actually the I9000T - and they didn't have any. Does anyone know what the difference is?

Got bored, decided to Voodoo lagfix my SGS :) Did CF Root and recovery too (after trying out Z4Root, which seems fine also, but doesn't have the 2e recovery in it). Now just the anxious wait to see if the file system conversion is successful :) Not bored anymore, thats for sure! Next steps get Titanium Backup back on there, and get rid of media rescanning at boot, uninstall inbuilt Swype so I can install the latest update! Twitter: @nztechfreak Blogs: AndroidNZ.net

Would flashing the official I9000XXJPO through odin get around this? Or would it be necessary to backup the efs before that even? Completely new to this, phone is great step up from the old iphone 3g though.

@lokhor, interested to know what you think of that version. Have all the files on my phone to do the same except v8 is meant to be out this weekend. Here's my noob question. When you restore apps via Titanium backup, are you connecting to the internet? I presume the restore has your apps stored somewhere on your phone. Or is that only the case if you've taken a zip backup? If that's not the case then I won't be changing rom until I'm back on wifi. Cheers, R2D2 I thought I lost my car keys and it was gonna cost me >$2,000 to replace them and the insurance company wouldn't cover them. (I only have 1 set so would have to replace the locks, and the remote key for my car cost $800 from Nissan) Luckily them turned up later on. I'll ask re: cellphones. Titanium backups up to the internal sdcard, same with clockworkmod recovery backups. I am still fiddling to get it all working how I want it. It didn't come with Swype installed which is a pain. Unsure if i should try the Dena theme as I've read that you can't revert. I do really want a circle battery mod though. Is swype in the medium or full pack? Yeah I like the Dena theme but they changed the battery icon and it's not to my liking. You maybe able to still cook a new one taking the framework-res.apk from the zip file. Not sure how to sign azip though which I think needs to be done. You don't need signed zips with cwm afaik. I tried using the kitchen but it failed miserably. I might just try one of the premade battery mods. I installed the JPA swype from the zip provided as it was a newer version. I cooked a new one using UTC kitchen website and then zipped it up with the original theme and Installed using CWM menu. I didn't have to sign the .zip file when i compressed it. I used SGS theme then added battery mod + status bar mod in the kitchen, then replace the old apk with the new apk then reziped it. Swype is a seperate download it is not in the medium or full packs. There are 3 versions to choose from. JPO , JPA and extra language version. According to the thread you can install JPO onto JPA and vice versa if you wish.
