Don't think I saw a screen protector at all in my box?

Then again, maybe I should have opened the manuals up :S

Just did a search, they mean this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xASJobjD68&feature=player_embedded#!

All Galaxy Ss have built in screen protectors, meaning a screen cover isn't really necessary, i was wondering why my keys haven't scratched it yet

Just flashed my phone with the kernel that allows you to store system data on an external sd card...

Wow the phone is now _lightning_ fast...
Definitely worth it if the delays annoy you.

Hmm tempting tempting. The lag hasn't worried me too much (stock JF3) but it is occasionally annoying. If this fix looks reliable and stable for a few days I might just take the plunge. Would be interested in your feedback once you've lived with it for a bit longer.

So with that fix, you only formatted your card, then applied the PDA file in odin?

So all your apps/settings/APNs stayed the same?  Far out!!! Think i might just have to do this, haven't really noticed the lag, but wouldn't mind replacing the Samsung icons with the LauncherPro icons

Think this image says it all, can't wait for 2.2, especially since in that fix they didn't modify the JIT at all?

Galaxy S 16GB 1,092.00 incl. GST available from this NZ store for only a little more than I ended up paying for the 8Gb model from Clove (which hasn't arrived yet)

Don't worry, you are better off going Clove, that site just looks plan weird,

It could be anyone in the world reselling those phones, it clearly states that market4less is basically a Pricespy like website, with sellers behind the advertisers.  So it'd probbaly be coming from Hong Kong and take longer than it does from the UK.

Also this is complete crap:

  • Customers are responsible for return shipping charges. This also applies to defective items.

  • Any item lost in the mail will not be responsible by Market4Less or any store operator/supplier.

  • For Item becomes defective beyond the 7 days of receipt, the customer will have to contact the respective supplier from this website for further assistance. Buyer should be aware that merchandize sold at MArket4Less can be parallel imported item, therefore it does not come with any manufacture warranty.

At least with Clove you get, good RMA/Warranty, you deal with the retailer not an onseller/supplier.  If it gets lost you have insurance on it :)
Wouldn't touch Market4less with a 20ft barge pole.

The WHOIS says it's run by Phones Direct, who's site looks even more dodgy(ie not on companies.govt.nz website).  market4less is, but the annual return from last year looks extremely vague and it doesn't look like they have a GST number

infact definitely drop shipping :) no doubt about it:

http://www.energysafety.govt.nz/templates/MultipageDocumentTOC____42357.aspx

?Phones Direct had drop shipped phone chargers designed for overseas use, along with an electrically unsafe adaptor, enabling the charger to be used in New Zealand.?

?Any appliance you buy should be suitable for use in New Zealand sockets and not need an adaptor,? says Mr Lamb.

?Adaptors should only be used when travelling, or as a short term solution when moving to a new country.?

Mr Lamb said the best protection for consumers is to use a trusted supplier which sells items suitable for New Zealand conditions and approved for use here.

Paul Scoble has breached Electricity Regulations 101 and 101A.

Is this at all legal here???  If the products are new then the seller surely has a legal obligation to ensure products are covered by a warranty??????  (even if they don't provide it directly)

if it's not an NZ company then NZ laws don't apply.  There is no obligation to provide warranties, however consumer guarantees act applies to NZ companys.

Hi all

Just a few more questions about the Galaxy S

- Does it have any scratch resistant coating ?

- How are people finding the plastic case in term of scratching ?

- Is the silver surround metal of some sort ? (similar to the Iphone ?)

- Is the plastic casing fairly rugged / hard plastic or very bendy ? is it similar to the iphone 3g/s rear casing in terms of hardness ?

Thanks once again :)
