Neets:
Wipeout: Is it worth factory resetting my phone before the update through Kies? I know it will wipe all the data, but I don't mind redoing it. I want a clean install. :>

If you don't mind, then go ahead.

When going from 2.1 to 2.2 you can't restore you system data using Titanium Backup.  But you can still restore you user apps and data.

When I factory reset I find that when I select the launcher (LauncherPro in my case) then my homescreen and pages come back.  I need to reset the widgets and the wallpaper.  But that's all.

Of course you'll have to set up the APN's (if you don't use APN Backup and Restore), wireless and your Google account but not really a drama :)

Looking forward to hearing how you get on.

Yeah I don't mind going through that at all, especially that I don't have any paid apps. But that will change. I saw a really cool lock screen app (I'm pretty sure you have one Neets, can you refresh my memory plz?), which I want on my phone. :>

Phone is at 90% now. Not long. Looking forward to moving all the apps to external micro sd card (when the replacement on arrives) and Skype! :D Btw, if I install a bunch of apps onto my internal SD card for now (after the 2.2 update), can I move them onto external sd card at the later date?

Had a few people report to me now that my phone sounds echoey and muffled.  Anyone else having the same issue?

Bought it from Eking so the return process is bound to be a nightmare =/

Settings> Applications> manage applications.  On the "on SD card" tab you should see the one installed on the external SD card, if any. If you want to move an app to the external SD card, just select the app from the list on the "all" or "third party" tab and, on the next screen, you will be offered the option of "Move to SD card" - BUT only if the app supports it of course Wink.  Incidentally, you can also move ones on the SD card back to the phone as well using the same approach.

I haven't really heard of that from people here in NZ but lots of those overseas flashing ROMs often report similar problems.  These seem to be resolved by flashing a different modem.

What ROM are you on?

Thankies. :>

Yes it can. It's been discussed on this thread and also here:

What is the widget you're using on the Widget Locker screen?  I've got Digital Clock Widget and mine is centred.  Mine is also positioned above the sliders.

I don't understand why you would want to move apps to SD on the SGS, it has 2gb of storage for apps!

The paid one, WidgetLocker. I can't seem to place the clock widget in the centre. Might see what other clock widgets are out there. :>

Lokhor, I assumed that if I keep putting apps onto internal sd, eventually it will clog up the phone and slow it down... Am I wrong?

wipeout: it shouldn't slow the phone down, you are unlikely to get anywhere near 2 gb of apps, that is a lot of apps.

Oh really? heh, That's cool. Any downsides of keeping them on the external micro sd? Are they slower or something?

The one I mentioned (and use) is centred.  I tried the  Widget Locker clock and it certainly isn't centred on my phone.  Did you know for sure it was meant to be?

No I didn't, but it doesn't bother me. I've got a nice clock widget off the market now. :>

The only issue I have with the WidgetLocker is that sometimes the old locker pops up for few seconds. Do you also get that?
