Where did LauncherPro go in the new kitchen?

heh, love the colors actually. :P

I've chosen ADW only because I felt like a change. I've been using the Launcher Pro for ages. And yes I've read that Doc's Roms seem to be flipping out when it comes to LP. Not sure why.

I don't even know what those other ones are. Might give them a go after a week or so.

What is this 7.5 you're talking about? I'm quite happy with this for now. I've also managed to back up my existing rom with clockwork and already tried it out, after unsuccessful battery mode flash. hahaha... works flawlessly. :>

lokhor: Where did LauncherPro go in the new kitchen?

There's talk of the dev doing something stupid with it and it expires after something like 5 days.  I don't know, I couldn't figure it out.  But there were a lot of complaints it wasn't working correctly so it's been pulled from the list of launchers.

@Wipeout, Doc dropped that casually into the thread today that "tomorrow" there's be a new base rom, 7.5.  Some more optimisation.  I'll see if I can locate the post.  But these days XDA keeps telling me the search function is unavailable for 10 minutes.  Most irritating.

Also, I meant to say, you've come a long way - look at you now not only flashing a rom but selecting themes.  Watch out world, here comes Wipeout!!

EDIT:  Here's the post.

Have a look at AppBrain for some of the comments left.  This might help to explain the problems (or not).

awww... thanks Neets! But you're right. I was too chicken to do anything with the phone to begin with. Since I've enabled the recovery on my phone, it's been non stop. Been using Heimdall again to get CWR (standalone, without any Kernels) since then. With .zip files is much easier now tho. And to be honest I would not have the courage to do any of this, if you guys weren't doing it and being so helpful every time I was stuck. Plus I felt less dumb asking you guys questions, rather than posting on XDA. Might has to do with the fact that I know you're also in NZ and kiwis are always very helpful, without flaming people etc. :>

Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong, but if you're already have Doc's base ROM, you don't need to do "wype install"? So I can just update the base, if it is the case.

Ahh, you're not thinking for Pele are you?  He's a bit of an odd character.  Sometimes really helpful, other times it's clear he's sick to death of the same question someone NEW has asked.  As for all the Zzzzz!  Yeah, I don't like to pipe up in there. Plus there's no need, by the time I've read a post someone else has usually provided an answer.  You look like a dick chiming in 3 posts too late with almost the same information ;-)

Not anyone in particular tbh. A lot of the users on that site act like they have a chip on their shoulder. Doesn't bother me tho. :>

You can take a non-wipe.  A non-wipe means you don't lose all your settings.  You can flash a new rom and there's nothing to set up. I dare say you'll still need to select a modem but I'm not 100% sure.  I don't know what Doc used to include in a new base rom to know what you can do without.  I wonder if the kitchen is set up to ensure you've made a selection of everything that's mandatory.

re Launchers.

I used to use launcher pro often, but have decided to go with adw launcher EX. The EX version was released recently and is a paid app. About 4 odd dollars. It comes with some nice home screen transition effects. bought it after checking the review here:

I checked out a demo on their site. Have fiddled with the free version a little. With the paid version can you change the dock background? And can you have note than one dock? I use all 3 scrollable docks in launcher pro and feeling like my hands are tied with ADW.
