Neets: I checked out a demo on their site. Have fiddled with the free version a little. With the paid version can you change the dock background? And can you have note than one dock? I use all 3 scrollable docks in launcher pro and feeling like my hands are tied with ADW.

Good point Neets - I work all 3 of my docks hard, and would struggle without them.

I read about the LP issues but they only affected an older version so I never had an issue. I have paid for LPP so I won't be changing anytime soon, plus no other launcher has the same widgets.

I was planning on jumping in with the kitchen but I'll wait if there is a new base due.

I'm still on Darkyy's 7.0 which has unsatisfactory battery life.
I think his latest rom has completely jumped the shark after he named it 2.3.1 (its just a froyo rom) and told everyone to 'deal with it'.

good questions Neets, I'll nosey it properly tomorrow. Wasn't sure if I answered your other question re the steam kernel and battery life. I'm at 57% left after 15 hours on the current charge.

I'm actually not sure if I use any of the extra functionality the paid version has (yes, it is the paid version).  Perhaps the backup/restore is part of the paid version which I do use.

I dislike the widgets, I don't like the grey.  But I see some themers are now including LP widgets in the apps they theme so I might have a change of heart.

I'm cooking my first rom in the 7.5 base.  I got a beta login to the kitchen ;-)

EDIT: my battery is only 80% charged and unlikely to be charged prior to us going out for brunch followed by a MTB ride so it'll be later this afternoon when I get around to flashing the phone.

Wipeout: Nofam, if you want the 2e recovery, uninstall your OneClickLagFix and get the voodoo. Not only it seems a lot faster, it also comes with CWR. :>?

Edit, after that you will need RomManager app from the Market. Run it, and you have the 2e recovery. :>

Whee. . . .2e recovery back, Voodoo kernel flashed, and refusing-to-use-Odin streak officially over.

When 7.5 is released in the kitchen, can I install straight over the Voodoo kernel with Hardcore's K12I (XXJPY Wipe ROM), or at the least, will I need to disable the lagfix?

Yep, just disable the lag fix.  If someone has the Hardcore kernel as CWM then you can flash just that now if you wanted.  I don't remember which his thread is on XDA but I think he releases his kernels for people to flash separately to the full rom.  If you've applied any tweaks you should also disable them too.

EDIT:  Does this mean you used Odin?  You didn't want to give Heimadall a go?

Yeah, as Neets has mentioned, you will need to disable the Voodoo before flashing the Doc's Rom.

I don't have any lagfixes anymore, but I think there is one built into the kernal I chose from the kitchen (hardcore's).

I decided that I will flash a new rom when Doc releases the 7.5. I also would like Doc's v3 theme. It's a lot more cleaner than the one I'm using imo. :>

Shrapnel: Hey there, Sorry to butt into this thread, but I've been trying to update My Telecom SGS to 2.2 from 2.1. I've tried the patch solution set to TNZ which I know other have had success with but it did not make a difference(had false success when I didn't change the patcher to my phone version hence updating my phone with the same firmware it had) . My current firmware version is JL1. If anyone has any ideas on getting this phone to update it would be great, I don't want to root or flash anything though :), just officially update it. I have been using the?latest version of Kies.

I had used the Kies Reg Patch and it had worked for me but to be honest have heard from other people it is not working anymore. Sorry If the Reg patch has not worked, don't know what will work. Also there was some kind of?maintainance release from Telecom sometime back not sure if that can do some help. Also a bit cofused why you have JL1, if I remember correctly mine was JP1 before the Froyo upgrade...

All the best & Happy New Year to all!!!

Hey ali, do you remember exactly what you did? Maybe I'm doing something wrong, and what do you mean by "maintenance release", firmware update? Thanks

First?do not connect ur mobile to ur computer and do not open Kies?- THEN

Look for "regedit" under run and open Registry editor

Then Under \HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Samsung \ kies \ DeviceDB if you see any folders which are numbers (i.e. i.e. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. and so on) delete all off them?

After that Open Kies and connect ur samsung phone, and when ur phone is found, disconnect the phone and close the program & unplug the phone.?

Run the exe 1.6 reg patcher,?u can downloaded from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835628

Set the patch to True and the Spoof code to TNZ it should auto fill other option automatically?and click write Registry?
Then connect ur phone to Kies and click firmware update/upgrade, and it should show u something as below:

Model Name: GT-I9000T
Current Version: PDA:JJ1 / PHONE:JI1 / CSC:JI1
Latest Version : PDA:JP2 / PHONE:JP1 / CSC:JP2

?

U Check this link also... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=851043&page=1

I taught Telecom did relase a maintaince release but maybe you are not getting it since u r on JL1... not sure how u mange to get that frimware as it was JI1... confused... but all the best and let me know how it goes... HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU>>

Thanks ali for the guide, I'm away from my comp now so I can't try it yet. A couple of things I did differently was that I used the 1.7 patcher and I didn't delete those reg entries. Ive just noticed that my gps stopped working too, not sure why though, it was working but my phone has been up dated twice since

I tried this and it did not work for my phone, I deleted the reg entries, connected the phone applied the patch as said but it still only wants to upgrade to JL1, I'm really confused here so any help would be appreciated. What is telecoms and Samsungs support like as this update should be out? Right? Maybe I'll try wiping kies completely from my pc and start over

right, got myself geared up (including downloading JM9) to flash the latest beta 7.5 from the Doc Rom kitchen.  Obviously doing a full wipe given going back to JM9.  I wonder if it'll have a hissy fit with choosing the OPS CSC file as JM8 has had in the past.

Phone fully charged, everything backed up.  Ready to go.

Shrapnel:

As far as I know, JL1 is Froyo for Telecom. And, from picture above, Kies tells you that you have that update. So I'm not sure what you need Samsung support for.

Hey thanks for your fast reply Wipeout, thats really weird, I thought (as others said) that JP1 was froyo. Anyway, in the "About Phone" section in settings that the Build No. is ECLAIR.DOJL1, and the firmware version is 2.1-update1 which would obviously make me think that it is still 2.1. So can anyone else confirm JL1 as Telecom Froyo?

Oh right. I thought you haven't actually flashed it.

In all honesty it is really hard to keep up with numbering/lettering of Samsung firmware releases. Like for example NZ Vodafone release is JP1/2. Europe Froyo releases were from JP1 to JPO.

American recent release is JL1, hence I've mentioned it.

Pays to check with someone who has the Telecom Galaxy. Sorry, might have confused you even more. hehe...
