you should be fine with JPY modem on voda. drain your phone completely till it turns off by itself, pull the battery for 30sec, charge it bak up to 100% while phone is OFF, then turn on and try again. basic steps, but you should start to see improvement GalaxyS i9000T on XT. ROM: Simplicity 1.5.1 XXJVT 2.3.5 MODEM: UGKG3 Kernel: Semaphore 1.8.0 bigmem, 1200mhz, ext4.

Bacha: Wifi driver kernal hack have you got a link for that? so i can read up about it. Cheers Courtesy of lokhor, try this link. It shows an 'update.zip' kernel patch which you can use with cwm recovery to flash a better wifi driver into the JPY kernel. Worked for me as far a bettery usage is concerned, and so far, reception has shown no downside. Give it a thrash and let us know how you did. One last thing, make certain you're able to use download mode to re-flash JPY should anything go south - unlikely, but pays to be sure. Cheers, R2D2 Galaxy S has gone to its new owner. HTC Sensation running Jelly Bean 4.1.1, alpha AOSP ROM, on Telecom XT. Rough around the edges but showing much potential considering it's pre-beta. My daily driver now.

Bacha: Yep i will recalibrate my battery and wait few days to see how it goes. I am on vodafone Cheers This is the method I have been using to calibrate my battery, and hasn't failed me so far. After I recetely flashed my phone, I would get 20% drop overnight etc, but after this I am getting ~60 hours of life from my phone. 1. Use your phone until the phone switches itself off (battery empty) 2. Switch on once more to make sure battery really is 0% (it will then immediately switch off once more) 3. Now, keep switched off (!), plug in charger & leave in charging until 100% 4. When battery is full, switch the phone on, unplug & check if the batter immediately drops 1 or 2 % 5. If battery immediately drops, plug in charger once more (while running phone) & let it charge completely 6. Once charging to 100% is done, keep charger plugged in & Reboot into Recovery Mode 7. in Recovery Mode go to: advanced --> Wipe Battery Stats --> Yes-Wipe Battery Stats 8. When done: Go To --> reboot system now 9. Once system has rebooted, unplug charger Galaxy S3 i9300 running WanamLite XXEMC3 V6.5 JB 4.1.2 on the network Telecom XT

You guys! You're so sweet. We are still trying to get home and been in the car for more than 2 hours and no where close. I'm not embarrassed to say it is scary. I had a few tears driving past a shop that was crumbling with another after shock with people in it. I am not at all happy. But we are safe and are family have all checked in. hope others in christchurch are safe and have been in touch with loved ones. lofreq: the idea behind changing the modem is because different modem files are optimised for different frequency bands depending on your country. the JPY modem does seem to work for the most part but the JPA or JL2 modems are more suited to countries that run 850mhz HSDPA, which is what XT uses. so it makes sense to use the optimised modem. you say youve tried the CWM version of the JL2 modem and it failed - what happened exactly? to answer your question, i used ODIN to flash the JL2 modem back over the top of Darky's default. i know many oppose Odin, but ive never had any trouble, its quick, and has never failed. id recommend you get an odin version of the JL2 modem, and just flash it across. it wont wipe anything on your phone, it will just update the modem file, which is only 12mb or so. first of all any guys from Christchurch here hope you all alright , my thoughts are with you ......... i ve downloaded the modem for the XT network i ve got darkys 9.2 want to put the modem on it via odin whats the procedure ?i ve tried to search on the net no defendant answers regarding flashing a modem by odin ? please check out my android page on face book do click "like " thanks https://www.facebook.com/pages/Android-Zone/445604175475114

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried a different HZ valued speedmod kernel. A whole lot of people on XDA are saying that HZ=250 is smoother, but I'll just be sticking to the recommended for now. Just flashing K13C Galaxy S I9000T 8GB Kingston 8GB Class 4 Micro SD MIUI 2.3.5 V1.9.9 JL2 Modem

I used to use the 250hz and tried the 300hz a while ago but 500hz seems to be a lot smoother, although lower in benchmarks.
