Shrapnel: Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried a different HZ valued speedmod kernel. A whole lot of people on XDA are saying that HZ=250 is smoother, but I'll just be sticking to the recommended for now. Just flashing K13C

Yeah, 250 is the default Samsung setting - TBH I'd take people's experiences on XDA with a grain of salt; you can see how wildly varying the user experience is on this thread alone (battery life/smoothness etc), and Hardcore is clearly not a silly chap - he'd have a pretty good reason for recommending 500Hz in the first place.

But hey, that's the splendiferousness of open source - chuck the 250 kernel on and give it a lash!! Smile

Gah what is this. My battery discharged 95% overnight! Charged it up again and seems to be dropping by 1% every few mins. Wow!

Haven't flashed anything new or installed any new apps. Was working fine yesterday.

Do you have the app Android System Info? it has a task manager that can tell you what is using CPU by % and Memory as well as a ton of other handy stuff.

interesting - mine started dropping battery faster than normal yesterday eve/overnight as well. not as bad as you but usually 1%-3% drop overnight in standby, now its like 20%+, and this morning also decaying quickly.

has something changed with cell tower power or updates or something maybe with the earthquake damage, would the towers be polling more or less or making the phones update more frequently perhaps? its the only thing i can think of......??

well im in auckland, so at first glance it makes no sense. but like spock says... remove impossible scenarios, and the remaining improbable's might be actual.... heh

just saying, since our usage patterns have not changed, phone config doesnt change, etc etc.... whats the only other variables? etc

I was thinking this as well. I noticed it had dropped a bit in the afternoon yesterday, but assumed it to be me using 3G a bit to stay up-to-date with the earthquake info.

Pretty much drained fully overnight. Battery usage info was showing cell service using >30% of the battery. I turned to Flight-Mode and battery stabilised.

Don't know if this is a coincidence. Seems weird though. I am in Tauranga.

That is pretty weird. what provider are you with? I had no issues like that on 2Degrees, however I charged my phone overnight. My battery drain today is pretty typical though (which is bad anyhow)

Hi I'm running doc's rom 9.6.6 and as of last night all my apps and programs don't seem to be saving there settings, for example every time I reboot and then open Titanium Backup it gives me the message about first time use at least titanium backup will keep its setting if i don't reboot, but other programs will not save my settings at all (make changes to settings, close the app and go back in, settings back to default)

Has any one else had this happen? is there a fix or will I have to re-flash the rom?

another question on doc's rom 9.6.6 - Is anyone getting good battery life on this build? I only get about 12-15 hours with out heavy use.
