Neets: Just flashed ZSJPJ.  It's new in the Beta kitchen. Haven't a clue what's new.  I like to live life on the edge :P

So how is it??????

Just saw this on XDA too:

Hmm, I'm not a good judge.  I don't let my battery get down.  I leave it charging all night for fear of another occassion where I'll again be cursing myself for not having a fully charged phone.

I got HAWX from Gameloft which is a pretty nice fighter jet type game. Just bought Modern Combat 2 + Asphalt 6 for $3 NZD from the Gameloft site - they have a deal going if you scroll down the page (on your phone) and select 'Download your free game now!'

I know this is possibly a little OT. I switched to 2degrees today.  Set up the APN details as per the sticky on the 2degree page - the one for the SGS - and I've managed to connect to mobile data.  But then it just flicked off.

I use Extended Controls to switch on/off mobile data.  It's definitely switched off mobile data. I press to switch it on and the message "activated" appears, but there's no data icon in the status bar.

I wondered if I'd just done something silly in my setup (which I checked) or if this is a known issue for new accounts or something.

Did anyone else encounter anything like this?  I'll go to their website if I can't figure it out, but I thought I'd try here since some are on 2degrees or have just recently transferred across.  I'm in Christchurch so shouldn't have a problem with connectivity (I wouldn't have though!).  Cheers

Too slow with my edit.

I've received confirmation of porting my number to 2degrees.  Decided to reboot my phone.  Mobile data is now working as expected.  I can turn on/off mobile data fine.  Not sure if it was all coincidental or I had to do a reboot to shake things up.

Yeah, I also had to reboot after I switched the other day.

Nope, no MMS. That doesn't worry me because I don't generally send them. Had to call 2d tonight as Internet wouldn't connect on my hubby's crap phone. CSR was really good and after 25 min had it sorted.

Where have you bought your spare batteries from?  I've decided I need one since we are subjected to random power cuts and I'm somewhat nervous about how long my phone will last.  Power cuts during the evenng when my phone is charging [sigh].

You could get a small 12V battery(not a car one though it would work too I guess), crocodiles to female cig car socket and get a micro usb car charger. I did this for my old phone once, worked fine but then again it might just be easier to get another battery :P

Thanks Shrapnel. Believe it our not I carry my car charger and micro usb charger in my back pack. I bike all the time now because the roads and traffic are so bad. So car charger it's a bit redundant :)

Have a look at these Duracell or these ZaggPowerstick, there is a new Powerstick coming with a solar charger built in.

Great, thanks for the links.  I like the look of the Powerstick, it will charge my phone and hubby's LG.  The Zagg is quite good from the point of view of allowing you to charge two devices at the same time.  But it's more bulky.  I like that the Powerstick also has memory, and with 8gb of memory it's the same price as the Zagg.  I think I've made my decision.  US$99 - worth it for peace of mind.  Cheers!
