Unfortunately I too suffered the same runaround as kiwijunglist did.

I ordered from unlocked-mobiles on Sunday (when the exchange rate was far more favourable than it is now). I got the same 'In security check status' and by Wednesday I grew impatient and asked them what the hold up was. I got no response from them and then got slapped with the 'canceled' notification. My credit card has been charged and I am waiting for the return of the funds but have had no personal contact from them.

Not good enough. Avoid.

Yeah that is a real shame, was the card under your name? billing address == shipping address?
What bank?

Just curious why it might have failed, but you would think they could have asked you for proof if there was doubt etc.  Obviously one of their checks didn't quite work out.

Yes, my card, same billing address and years of problem-free overseas purchases.

The failure I think comes down to them simply not communicating.
The order started processing at 7pm on Monday night. I got the cancellation notification just before 9pm Wednesday night (and after the CC was charged). If they were waiting in that period for me to forward on more personal details, then they flatout failed to inform me (both on the site itself and in post-order emails).

The fact that I emailed them to query what the hold up was and never got a personal reply, neither before or after the cancelation came, speaks volumes about their lack of customer relations skills.

These aren't cheap items and I don't know how a business like this can afford to let legitimate sales go begging with such a basic mistake as this.

Yes, your experience is quite the opposite of what I had.  I emailed them and had a reply back a few hours later and I obviously had no problems getting through the checks.
I've only bought the one item from them so maybe I was lucky, or you were unlucky.. who knows :)
Can understand you are a bit annoyed though, being mucked around sucks...

I should have mentioned that I had a problem with their emails to my slingshot account going astray. I had to call them and switch to my gmail address before getting reliable comms. They were quite good after that.

Placed my order with Clove.co.uk for the Galaxy S I9000 :)

Does it normally take a while until you get any email from them? Ordered earlier today but haven't even got a email to confirm or anything.

dman:
The Nokia N8 will be the biggest camera sensor ever.

Just had a look and man that's a nice sized sensor :)  nothing like our current pinhole style ones that most phones have, also the test shots look good!!!

indeed! I really need a new VF cell (I'm getting by on only my XT for now, to the dismay of my 021 friends...) but waiting for the Nokia N8 to come out and to read the reviews that will then subsequently start pouring in.   Please please Nokia don't screw this one up! :P

Yes I would be all over the N8 if the camera lives up to the promises AND it had android.  But I can't imagine forking out a lot of money for something that doesn't run android.

Nokia I bet will NOT be going with Android in the near future, they'll fully committed to using the latest Symbian and MeeGo when it comes out

I didn't here back until the day after I ordered. Just remember the time difference, it was likely the middle of the night when you made your order. It's only just gone 8:15am in London (7:15pm here)

Yeah unfortunately I think that is the case too.  I would love to see them just concentrate on making phones.

personally I think this is a good thing, Symbian will bring smartphones to a whole new price point ($180 smartphones.... $220 smartphone touchscreen!). And it is good to see them still developing it, Symbian^3 brings a huge host of new things. With Symbian^4 being an entire overhaul.

Plus of course there is MeeGo which will do far more than any other smartphone OS to complete the gap from phone to full blown computer.
