good work guys - hope repairs go without a hitch - or better yet you get a new unit??

i see the galaxy tab 10.1v is hitting aussie shores soon, im definitely buying the 8.9 but have not heard if its out anywhere yet, has anyone heard? i know im probably facing an international purchase, no way anyone here is going to carry them right.

also heard the 2.3 update for the GalaxyS has been pulled again, with problems... heh, we'll be waiting a while yet before we see stable custom builds id say. im still on darky's RC3 2.3.3 unofficial, there are small odd things wrong with it (notification sounds on unlock seem to override system notifications, browser seems to have trouble with buttons on script-enabled sites like m.facebook.com, homescreen lag (lags for 1.5-2secs before becoming buttery smooth, but switch away from homescreen and back again, and it lags again), and jittery touch performance etc)  so im really looking forward to a stable build based on official software

It should be under applications if it's not on a home screen - a globe icon called Internet

If you need a download-mode jig ASAP, you're welcome to borrow mine!  Works with SGS I/II/III.  I also have a SIM cutter available (Dunedin) - happy to post either to you at your cost.

if you bought a telecom i9000T you wont find an icon called "Browser" because the clever little fools in the marketing dept had it renamed as "YxT World" on your home screen. if you click it, it goes direct to your personalised telecom home page and account page where you can check your usage and data etc, but its actually your browser. from there you can go on to another web page.

OR, use the google search bar to search for something which will get you into the browser

OR, download Opera Mobile, Skyfire, Dolphin, or any other browser, which will give you alot more functionality and usability - and they are free, as well

That's disgusting. if I had a branded phone with bloatware i'd flash it with custom firmware... wait I did that with my unbranded one anyway :D

I'm finding the battery not so good on Gingerbread and there's a few other very minor bugs like the scrolling in the browser is a bit funny and a few apps not working but I'm actually finding gingerbread very fast and stable.

Another question with a simple solution I hope, is there a way to view the files on the external SD card from the phone, rather than attaching it to my laptop. When I look at My Files I only appear to be able to see those on-board.

thanks for your patience (can see an easy answer using google)

SIP is working on  GB according to tests in the #romkitchen.  Perka confirmed Xiff has it working and provided this additional URL.
