Cyanogenmod Team announces Galaxy S support!

Great bit of news this - hopefully means a 2.2 Cyanogenmod ROM for our Galaxy S soonish. That means BT HID profile support and WiiMote/BT Wireless Wii Classic controls for PSX/GBA emus, should be a tasty combo with TV Out, no?

I folded and just ordered a Samsung Galaxy S. It should be a speedy improvement over my iPhone 3G.

Any news on a GPS fix for the Galaxy S?

The more I read about this and the Desire, the more I think this is the device to go with - just the GPS issue that needs resolving.

That is awesome news :) was playing Crash Bandicoot last night on my TV out, but found my fingers kept slipping off the buttons on teh screen :S can't wait to borrow my parents WiiMote once the mod comes out :)

Although I'd definitely prefer the HDMI out cable to the current TV out

I've done both the SUPL fix and the NTP fix on mine, and its fine for my use (car and jogging). Never fails to get a lock in 30s and usually down to 10m accuracy inside a minute.

The only issue I have had now is when I'm running too many apps and I think the GPS process gets killed by my Autokiller. At least, its happened once, the GPS was completely dead. But disabling/enabling GPS got it working again.

+ sending me a different, (very) second-hand camera after the I sent my week-old Fujipix back with a borked CMOS sensor, then not replying to e-mails/phone calls etc.

I'm looking at buying one, still up in the air about it though.

Is there much difference between the 8gb version and the 16gb version, I mean apart from the obvious size, I mean for the phone divvying up space within itself.

I could only find the 16gb version on mobilecity, they are reputable? Clove has on the 8gb version with an 8gb sd card, right?

Cheers.

mobilecity? - Don't you mean www.mobicity.co.nz

And there are 3 versions for sale.  8gb (850Mhz XT Support) , 8gb (No XT Support), 16gb.

There's no difference between the 8GB and the 16GB apart from the amount of storage on the internal SD card.

As for where to buy it from, I can really only recommend Clove. Just check out the positive reviews of them from everyone on the net. Can you say the same of einfo or some other online only store?

As an aside note, I bought a phone a few years back from alibaba for a nokia n73. Ended up getting a nokla. Nokla. Was not happy.

Ugh, yeah I did mean mobicity, late night and first time I've seen that website.

I'm on 2degrees and not interested in XT.

What about warranty's is Clove good for those? How about Mobicity?

Mobicity will pay back the import tax if you get 'caught', right?

Still undecided if I should go for the 8gb or 16gb

All your questions already answered in this thread, in the last 5 or so pages....

No mention on warranty on either Clove or Mobicity, I had read the thread and I have seen the questions but no one answered them.

I was confirming that Mobicity would pay back import tax etc since I had read it earlier (including their email reply). I asked because I am still making my mind up on which source to go with.

In either case I will get the 8gb version from either Clove or Mobicity if/when I get it.
