Ah I see. Had some funny battery issues with loosing 40% charge in 5 minutes, second time it's happened so not overly concerned yet.

I've jumped ship from Go Launcher to Launcher 7. What a slick interface. If you're into it this launcher has a lot of potential to be pretty awesome.

I think this has been asked already but I wasn;t able to find the final answer, thus positing again.

Have Galaxy S i9000 Asian Version, which I have flashed to 2.2.1 from www.samfirmware.com but now have the following:

PDA: I9000ZSJPK
PHONE: I9000ZSJPG
CSC: Unknown
Build Info: Web Mar 16 10:16:30 KST 2011

I guess the question is should I worry too much that CSC is not there as everything works and deal with this when 2.3.3 is finally available for Asia (hopefully with its own CSC) or do I need to fix it prior to that...

Kies does not even recognize the firmware now - was just trying to check if I latest firmware was available, thus would have to go the old way when the time comes :-)

Any help appreciated...

If your phone is working I don't see any issue. Why wait for the Asian firmware to flash Gingerbread? you can easily flash the JVH or JVO offical roms using Odin.

I want to upgrade a work phone to 2.2 (Telecom Galaxy S) and the dealer has done it already. But when I asked if I could do it, I was told it would invalidate the warranty  which is probably not a good idea for a corporate phone.

Any ideas what I could do?

Quick question to refresh my memory - I have a mate's I900T that's running 2.1

To get Doc's ROM on there, can I flash Harcore's kernel via Odin and then boot straight into CWM and flash from there, or am I better to flash a full 2.2 stock rom via Odin, and then upgrade the kernel?

Just worried that flashing a 2.2 kernel over a 2.1 stock ROM might not be a great idea?

Noob question I know, but it's been a while!

If you need a download-mode jig ASAP, you're welcome to borrow mine!  Works with SGS I/II/III.  I also have a SIM cutter available (Dunedin) - happy to post either to you at your cost.

I'm almost certain you can do that, just don't tick reboot and do a batt pull, because the kernel controls the software to hardware only when you are in the android os(I think), so it should be fine.

Any obvious reason why my phone won't record video? It takes pictures fine but I get a recording error if I try to use the video mode regardless if I use the phone memory or memory card.

I am running Darky's Rom GB 2.3

Just wondered if there was a simple trick to get it running??

Technically, you should backup the EFS folder on your phone before you flash anything. I did this by installing z4root (xda) to hack in root temporarily, then used root explorer to copy the efs folder to the external SD card (I then zipped it and put copies everywhere in gmail). When using ODIN, make sure KIES is NOT running, and you load Odin BEFORE you plug you phone in. Your phone MUST be in download mode first.

1. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE 3 BUTTON RECOVERY AND DOWNLOAD MODE ON THAT PHONE!

2. Using download mode and Odin, flash EZbase (you choose 2.2.1 or 2.3.3 android) from XDA. Reboot. Let OS load.

3. Boot into Download mode. Flash a Telecom compatible modem (some forum members here will recommend). You will have to reflash the modem with virtually any custom rom - most only default to the Vodafone frequencies.

4. Done.

You can then stay with ezbase, or use cwm to flash a custom rom. I suggest Ultimate ROM for 2.2.1, or Simply Honey for 2.3.3 - both with the DamianGTO kernel.

Quick question for the Knowers Of Stuff here:

I am considering a bluetooth handfree car kit, what I would like to do is play music from the SGS through it, and also receive phone calls. It'd be nice if this was cheap and solar powered.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Cheers guys - ended up flashing a stock 2.2 rom via Odin, then Harcore's kernel, adn then Doc's JPJ Rom with UGJL2 etc. . .

Does anyone have a copy of the original I9000T 2.1 ROM they'd care to upload?  I had a feeling someone already had, but I've been through about 100 posts, and I can't be faffed searching any more!!
