M_I_C_H_A_E_L: Wi-Fi connection problems

I've heard of countless complaints about the GPS, but this has to be the first I've heard about any wifi issues.

People talking about losing Wi-Fi

I'm not too phased by that tbh. Certainly doesn't seem like its that big affecting the majority of people like the lag or gps issues.

Just put my order in at clove and got their email about security so took a picture of my CC statement.

Hope it will be cleared and it will arrive soon.

Thanks for the help in making the decisions. :)

I have never had a problem with wifi dropping out while using but what I have noticed is that some time wifi will not connect. The only way I can get it going again is to turn the phone off then on again. If I try to connect in the wifi setting screen it says 'connecting...' then after a period of time 'unable to connect...' This is a couple of meters from my wireless router, full strength. Under the advanced wifi settings I have the wifi sleep policy set to 'When screen turns off' I have changed this setting to 'never' and see if this still occurs. Anyone one else seen this occurring?

Quick note that apparently the Zeemote is working with PSX4Droid via the GamePro drivers, good news since the Galaxy S doesn't yet play nice with WiiMotes...

I have a Zeemote and will try tomorrow after my night shift to re-confirm this...

Sweet, nice work, did you buy just the 8gb like me or the 8gb with the sd card?

Still waiting for the confirmation email back about the security question.

You get a confirmation email, right? And you only had to reply to the 'sales' email?

StephenNZ: Samsung are actively preparing a Froyo (Android 2.2) update as we speak. There have been several releases of the update to date, so the Samsung support is looking great. Two Froyo updates were (unofficially) released for testing last week.

Any word on whether Samsung will start releasing Galaxy S's with Froyo as OEM?

Great - how does it play?

OT but where/how is the best way to buy one? Seems to only be offered in various bundles in thier on-line store, of which Android is not one of the official choices :-(

Hell yeah that's awesome news :), might have to pickup a Zeemote now!

I've been loving the old school PSX, even hooked my PS3 controller upto my PC with ePSXe and played some GT2 last night in 1080P with blending, 32bit colour, sharpening, oh man it looked good!!

I got the 8gig ya, can buy SD cards cheap here so thought just phone all good.

I had to ring my CC bank and find out a purchase number as proof for mine as I used a different shipping address but then I just emailed it back next day and they shipped it. Fingers crossed get it by Friday.

Very angry with unlocked-mobiles.com

They charged my credit card for $780.04 (358.62GBP) , then they proceeded to cancel my order (failed secuirty check) but they still charged me, then the next day they refunded me.  But instead of reversing the original charge, they credited my account with only $740.35 (358.62GBP).  Awaiting for reply from them, but this is totally unacceptable!!!

Bugger that's rough. I'm guessing they can't control that because at thier end they are dealing in GBP and you have to wear the exchange risk. Maybe you should contract your card issuer and ask them to reverse it at the original exchange rate?

Hi guys. I have another question (or two) about the Galaxy.

First off, If i bought one from a parallel importer, would it be safe to do an ota upgrade to 2.2? Would my phone brick or anything? Im guessing yes, but thought I would ask to make sure.

Secondly, If I bought one from a parallel importer, would the android market still realise im in New Zealand and not the country it came from? What I mean is when I put in my Visa Debit details to buy apps (I think thats how you pay apps? Using your credit/debit card) will it reconise it or not?

Sorry, hope I made sense. Thanks :)
