lofreq: its that easy :D

great work, go enjoy and hope all runs smooth for you now.

by the time youre ready for the next upgrade you should have a stable fully functioning 2.3.4 rom available. im still on 2.3.3 waiting for a bit more stable kernel to be released before i flash again :)

Dodgy Samsung Cable. With the New Darky Rom the USB drivers work as they should.

Yes, the upgrade to Gingerbread will be easier now that I have done this upgrade.

I have installed most of the apps I use from Titanium and everything is working well and very smooth. What an excellent app Titanium Backup is.

Thanks for your help.

Anyone had issues with Gingerbread on the i9000t? Mine crashes when GPS is involved a heap. Had no issues with old hardcore 2.2.1 ROM. But now running 2.3.3, I can't use the GPS without it doing an unusual soft restart usually, and sometimes a hard reset. Tried with 2 different modems, and no change.

The ROM is incredibly fast, but without GPS functioning, I can't really use it!

I want to buy the galaxy s2 but would have to sell my galaxy s first to do so. any one interested in a I9000T that is currently running Gingerbread? and if so what are you willing to offer me?

Phone is about 8 months old, has had a screen protector on it from new and only has some slight marks on the top corners.

Could flash it to a standard build if required.

If you look at my post both here and in xda i9000 general you will see about the romkitchen one I made which has proven to be very successful and lean on power. The gps works too mainly because I used a gps.conf I also found on xda.

I'm not sure about the i9000t (which is originally a Mexican number and operates the same frequencies as Telecom here - are Telecom Galaxy's T too?) but this looked interesting http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=901765 . You have to get the modem right for NZ.

Have a look at http://www.bitstream.co.nz/samsung   and grab that gps.conf and put it in /system/etc using Super Manager or similar. You dont need to fiddle further with GPS

BTW if anyone is interested I have a set of 1:50000 Linz maps for use with Orux Maps, the best tramping and MTB gps software I have yet found (and its free) . It also does a good job of offline caching of online maps.

I'm using JL2 modem at the moment, and before that I accidentally loaded a ROM with JP2 modem, both resulted in crashing. Using 2.3.3 JV5 with the Talon Kernel.

Each time I have used Titanium to restore applications, could this be causing any issues with GPS configuration?

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner.
HTC Sensation running Jelly Bean 4.1.1, alpha AOSP ROM, on Telecom XT. Rough around the edges but showing much potential considering it's pre-beta. My daily driver now.
