nzgman: I want to buy the galaxy s2 but would have to sell my galaxy s first to do so. any one interested in a I9000T that is currently running Gingerbread? and if so what are you willing to offer me?

Phone is about 8 months old, has had a screen protector on it from new and only has some slight marks on the top corners.

Could flash it to a standard build if required.

How much?

would definitely sell it for $650 other offers I would have to think about.

One can get one new cheaper: http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=645149

That link is not for the same phone, that is for the Vodafone version NOT the Telecom version which is the I9000T, have not seen the Telecom version for cheaper than $799 (www.dse.co.nz)

Does JVQ have a new file system ?

I have seen various reports both stating it does have a new file system and no it doesn't  lol

Im guessing you can root this still ?

Will you put JVQ on your SGS? Just askin'...

Galaxy S has gone to its new owner.
HTC Sensation running Jelly Bean 4.1.1, alpha AOSP ROM, on Telecom XT. Rough around the edges but showing much potential considering it's pre-beta. My daily driver now.

Not sure about the filesystem, I flashed Speedmod K15-T22 kernel on it and it allowed root and I converted the FS to EXT4 anyhow.

@ArtooDetoo - when they fix the browser for deodexed roms then maybe I'll flash JVQ

So, JVQ seems very smooth, even faster than past roms.

Some nice new graphics/icons.

Once quick question though, has anyone had any issues wuth GPS on this rom, my old rom only took a few seconds to lock on, and this one just doesnt want to lock on at all, ...

Any ideas  ?

You could try one of the following:
Different Kernel (Speedmod)
Different Modem (BUJP5 or JVP modem)
Try GPS Aids and FasterFix from Android Market if you have root access

Theoretically it should work, however keep a spare modem to flash on your phone in case it doesn't

I just updated this phone to 2.3.3 using a leaked(?) Samsung ROM. Before doing so, we backed up all the contacts to the SD card, twice as vcf files(s).

Alas after the ROM upgrade, when we tried to restore the contacts, the SD card was empty! And the user had been adding new contacts, not to the SIM nor to GMAIL but to the phone so they were lost. Luckily the phone syncs with Exchange so many of his contacts were in Exchange and once we resync'ed they came back.

I am not a Samsung user (have a N1) and was surprised that when you add a contact you can choose Phone, SIM, Gmail or Exchange. On my N1 I only have the choice of Gmail or Exchange, no phone or SIM. That way if you flash the phone, you don't lose all your contacts since they should be in the cloud.

System One: Popcorn Hour A200,  PS3 (US 60G) dead and now replaced with a PS3 SuperSlim, NPVR running on Sempron 3000 (XP), Sony BDP-S390 BD player, Logitech Revue, Pioneer AVR, JVC 56" D-ILA 720P RP TV

System Two: Popcorn Hour A110 ,  Oppo BDP-80 BluRay Player with hardware mode to be region free, Vivitek HD1080P 1080P DLP projector with 100" screen. Harman Kardon HK AVR 254 7.1 receiver, Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD player, Roku XS media player

Are you talking about the internal SD or the external SD? Backing up to somewhere you're about to flash doesn't seem very safe. SIM is fine because it won't be touched, nor will the external SD. Especially since you can remove them... :-)

GMail is the best bet because you can simply sync to get everything back as it was. Pity you found out the hard way. I learned that way as well, sadly. But I won't repeat the error...

Hey all,

Been out of the game for about a month and hate to see myself left behind in the neverending pursuit of ROM smoothness on SGS.

I'm itching to flash. Can someone please give a quick update on what is currently the smoothest and most stable combination? I'm currently on Doc V10.ZSJPJ / JPP / speedmod-k13d-500Hz.

(Thinking about it I don't quite remember all the nuances of flashing. But that can be sorted with a couple of late night xda sessions :) )

Thanks Smile
