Did it actually start loading the rom onto the phone? try a different usb port and usb cable. From what you posted earlier it sounded like it hadn't actually started loading the rom onto the phone.

I just checked the link saw you were flashing a darky rom. have you pre-installed a gingerbread rom with bootloaders before or on stock 2.1?

might pay to start off flashing a stock rom from Ramad, perhaps JVP or JVQ
you can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1102881

his link went to Darkys 9.2 resurrection which is Froyo. so he shouldnt need bootloaders right?

what Odin are you using zephyr - i have had troubles with 1.3 but i found 1.7 and 1.83 to pick up and work where 1.3 died same as yours. i even managed to recover from the dreaded "exclamation mark" death screen using a newer version of Odin...

True the newer Odin versions are much better. Why flash to Froyo 2.2 anyhow? that's old hat!

Wicked news for all Galaxy S owners - the devs think they've cracked getting CM (and more importantly for me, MIUI) to work properly with Gingerbread bootloaders. Thoughts are this should drastically improve battery life. I'm about to try this out so will report back :D

Does CM7 still have issues with video playback using hardware acceleration?

I cant comment directly for the CM roms but the version of MIUI that I'm running wont play an xvid file using hardware accel. Didnt see any issues running software mode in Rockplayer though (a 720p video file) not that I regularly watch proper videos on my phone.

Hi Guys.
I did the firmware upgrade via Kies to Gingerbread 2.3.3 on my stock standard Telecom XT Galaxy S that was using Eclair, last night and when it restarted I thought I had made the biggest mistake. I had it fully charged before hand. The data connection seems quite laggy, keeps switching between 3G and H. Scrolling menus was very slow and jerky. Went flat in less that 3hrs. Had an issue with TWloader? and found out to fix that was to clear data for the loader. Recharged it and this morning is much better performance wise. Scrolling is a little jerky compared to Stock. Still running very slow at the moment. Nenamark scored 41.9fps so thats not bad.

All data and apps are intact as far as i can see apart from home screens. Going to double check the APN's and the stock version couldnt send or recieve MMS's untill i modified the APN, so will have to do this again when i find the right apns. more to come......

Reuben

That sounds like a ridiculously low score for Nenamark, I usually get ~50fps on mine.

Hey all, just a quick question.

I was having problems with my stock browser on I9000, it started giving me the "Sorry error occurred: Failure to read response" error more and more until it was totally unusable. So I figured this must be the sign so I flashed the latest and greatest Darky's 10.2 RE (JVQ everything - PDA/ PHONE/CSC). The problem went away for a little while but has returned half a day later.

Clearing data for the Internet doesn't solve the problem. I think my APN settings are fine since I can browse with Dolphin HD easily, even though it is slightly slower than stock browser. As well as I can download stuff from Market, gmail.

One of my suspects is Zeam Launcher, since the problem started again on my newlly flashed phone after I installed Zeam (removed it now the problem is still there). Another suspect is A cache partiotion somewhere, since when the browser starts up at google homepage instead of location down the bottom it says ...meta http-equiv='Cache-control" content="no-cache"....Sorry error occurred: Failure to read response ....

But I have cleaned cache partition multiple times while installing the Darky's rom.

So I'm pretty lost at what to even look at :)

what did you reinstall after flashing 10.2RE that coincided with the problem coming back the next day? did you install anything at all?

Yeah I installed a bunch of stuff (7-8 apps), since I don't like backing up my apps - I just re-download them.

Ok, so the apps I installed since flashing: Simi clock widget, Darky ROM tool, Quadrant, Swype, Smooth Calendar, TW4 Manager, Home Switcher, QR Droid, Dolphin browser. Any of these look suspicious? :) I think the problem came back after I installed Zeam Launcher which I also had on my previous ROM. And just now Dolphin actually gave me the same error.

We're talking within one day here: flashed in the morning - happy clappy setting up my phone, no errors while browsing and bam just an hour ago the error comes back :)
