Hi..

Probably a stupid newb type question, but..

I have the Galaxy S, have just installed a 32Gb SD card and cannot work out how to move music, photos etc from the internal 8Gb card to the new card.
I even resorted to reading the Samsung manual which was less than elucidating. No great surprises there :(

Can anyone help?

cheers
Barabas

either install a file manager on your phone (like Astro) and them move your files around, or easier (and faster) just mount your phone as USB drives on your computer, and simply reorganise the data using your computer.

once the files are where you want them, you shouldnt need to worry about "pointing" your apps to the data, your phone will scan all storage mediums to look for your images and music files etc, and should find your media on both locations.

OK, no luck with the UGKG3 modem. Still losing signal everyday. Will have to send back for repairs. Does anyone have a jig I can use? Would like to set the flash count to 0 to before I send it back, since they were asking me questions regarding me mucking around and installing stuff on it after it got 'repaired' last time.

You're very welcome to borrow mine - what part of NZ are you in?  There may be others here closer to you than Dunedin.

If you need a download-mode jig ASAP, you're welcome to borrow mine!  Works with SGS I/II/III.  I also have a SIM cutter available (Dunedin) - happy to post either to you at your cost.

Sorry, I should have included my location. Currently in Tauranga over my university break, but study in Hamilton. So would greatly appreciate if someone in this general area would be willing to let me borrow theirs :)

Cheers nofam. Let's see if I can find someone closer to me, else will take you up on your offer :)

Hi for some reason my post did not come out. I have an I9000 with Darky 10.2 and JVQ.  Am I right in thinking all I have to do is enable 850mhz mode on the modem in order to get the internet on the phone when in NZ for the world cup.

Thanks in advance.

I think it depends what network you are roaming on, and whether your phone is 850 or 900 3g capable (it can't be both). vodafone uses 900 and 2100 3g while telecom xt uses 850 3g.

If it is 850 capable then yes you can just enable the 850 band, no need to flash an optimised modem, you might want to disable the other bands if not using an optimised modern so that it doesn't prefer to use the other (wrong) bands.

Had to repost as the forum does not seem to like Opera.

Thank you for your answer.

I seem to have a choice between Voda and XT then

The XT site seems clear get a pre paid sim, add on 2 gig of data ($50)

Can I do the same with Voda?

Which network would you guys recommend baring in mind will be travelling North and South Islands in a motor home chasing a number of great games.

Thanks

Ok I need some help please.

Ever since I put my fone on custom rom, and its been a few different ones now, I have not been able to send or receive mms?

I am with vodafone and have the following under APN's:

VFNZ Gateway : No green tick : live.vodafone.com : internet+mms
VFNZ Internet : checked : www.vodafone.net.nz : internet+mms
VFNZ PXT : no option to check or uncheck : live.vodafone.com : MMS

I have heaps of apps installed which might not help, but anyone have any suggestions?

Cheers

-Al

so how are all the original i9000 users these days. how many of you have still resisted the urge to upgrade to the wealth of new dualcore devices out there like the SGSII?

is anyone considering waiting to get the newer LTE equipped 4.5" samsung models that were recently announced for USA, or even the Samsung Galaxy Note just recently revealed at IFA?

and who is fuming at apples ongoing legal tantrums against samsungs amazing looking new tablets?

I upgraded to the SGS2 the day it came out, and it was a great decision - the SGS2 is superior in every way bar sound quality, and going to back the SGS (which my fiance now has) feels sluggish (even running the latest JVR ROM and Speedmod kernel).

My SGS2 is currently underclocked and under-volted, and I still have 47% battery left after around 46 hours of use. . . GPS locks in about 5 seconds, camera takes great pics/video. . . I could go on. Smile

Not interested in anything bigger to be honest - the SGS2 is pushing the envelope as it is. . . .Will see what the next generation running on Kal-El SOC's looks like, but as I can't be arsed gaming on a tiny screen, it would have to be a compelling  device.

And yes, very over Apple and their continued whinging. . . if they don't get the iPhone 5 out soon (and make it a dead-set winner), they're risking falling well behind.
