Has anyone ordered and had delivered a mobile phone from Clove UK? If so, what were the costs involved?

I bought my HTC Wildfire from Clove near the end of last year. I would definitly recommend them. As far as costs go, youre pretty much just looking at the price of the phone + 24 pounds (from what I remember) for shipping and that was it :)

I got stung for GSt twice :(
it's 15% + $32 ITF fee + $12 some other fee

Still worth it in most cases though

Bought Galaxy S from Clove mid last year and agree re recommending them. There has been discussion on all this previously on GZ and IIRC there may be a difference re treatment of GST depending on who delivers it. Mine came via DSL courier and they collected ~$130 GST from me before they would deliver it. Others have had delivery by Royal Mail and seemed to evade GST. However that was all 9 months ago and don't know if things have changed.

My Galaxy S was from Royal Mail and I got stung for 128GST last June :(

However my dealings with Clove have left me impressed :) they'll probably get my Galaxy S 2 order in the near future

Hmmm....works out to be around $100 or more cheaper through Clove vs local after all the other expenses are added for the S2. Thanks for your replies, not expecting any more nasty surprises now ($$)

I got my Galaxy S through ebay and was lucky enough not to have been stung by GST, but the cost involved in ordering from Clove would be the cost of the phone plus courier charge and possible GST when it gets to NZ shores.

Whats the situation with clove and mobicity if.

You pre-order and price goes up, do you have to pay more?

You pre-order and price goes down, do you get refund?

When you pre-order do they charge your credit card straight away, because if you pre-order and cancel then you would loose money in the refund because of the currency conversion fees.

I would have thought that if they are taking pre-orders, they are living with a quoted price? Surely it's not a moving feast and both parties have accepted that price.

If the price goes down they will charge you accordingly. If it goes up Clove will always ask you to confirm you still want to go ahead. Nothing to worry about with Clove, unlike the copious bait and switch sellers around the web. I made my SGSII order something like six weeks ago.

I recommend them highly, many (many) people got HTC Desires from them after I recommended them here last year.

I got a Galaxy S 2 weeks ago from Clove.  Paid 24 pound for postage and 1.2% for the transaction fee

I used royal mail and didn't get stung with gst. They left the parcel on the doorstep to which wouldn't be an issue if you got it delivered to your workplace.

I still recommend them very good to deal with even with the time difference.

I am one of the many to get a Desire via Clove.
They will be who I get my next phone off.
Another factor to consider, and I think this is extremely important, is Cloves phones are unbranded and not tampered with.
All local importers sell either foreign branded phones, or the reflash a different ROM.
Meaning support can be hard to come by, and updates come later. Not to mention the chance of Chinese language stuff all through it...

I should not be here
