Can someone give me recommendation on a good turn-by-turn navigation app?

Main requirement is that the maps must be offline, as it's going to be used around Australia.

SGSIII
ROM: WanamLite v1.3    Kernel: Ninphetamine v1.1.0   Modem: DXLEA

SGSII (Now belongs to SWMBO)
ROM: WanamLite v12     Kernel: Siyah v3.3.2   Modem: BVLPB

SGS
 (Cat's chew toy)

If you need a download-mode jig ASAP, you're welcome to borrow mine!  Works with SGS I/II/III.  I also have a SIM cutter available (Dunedin) - happy to post either to you at your cost.

Not interested in getting an Aust sim card and prepay data plan?

The person it's for is only going there for a holiday; I suspect they'll want to hit the ground running so-to-speak, and drive out of the airport with it working?

Seems like a decent investment if they can get Aus/NZ maps?

NextG sim with a 30 recharge will give you 500mb and about 220aud worth of phone calls, more than enough to get Giggle Maps up and running.

Installed CM7stable version last night.  Seems pretty smooth and after a few reflashs no errors. Works a charm.  Battery is crap though (havent calibrated though).  Will give galnet miui a go tonight.  Best rom ive tried.  But in saying that ive been overseas for a while and the last ROM I used was Cognition 1.2 or 3.  Sitting around 35% now with 8 hours use and 2 hours on screen time.

Try Dlev's ROM with Siyah's kernel - I can get 3 days easily with light use. . . . it's awesome.

I think getting a prepay sim with some data is the best way to go. I did it when I was in the US earlier this year and was a life saver (although wasn't getting 3G speeds, just edge, but it was enough).

Nofam, when I looked at XDA for that ROM it appears it is for the  I9000 rather than I9100, or is there a I9100 version as well?

On T-mobile you will only get EDGE speeds

Go with AT&T
