joker97: Ok I will try that at work and see if it makes much difference... Should I disable fast dormancy

No, I wouldn't - Vodafone actually support FD, whereas Telecom don't. . .I trialled disabling it a while back, and the battery life suffered noticeably.

I really wouldn't mess with that - have you changed it already from whatever the defaults are?

Hey don't blame the T! hehe there should really be very very little in the way of differences. Can happily use a voda sim in my I9000T anywhere in the North Island (where I can use my XT sim) .

why not? in australia when i use OFF i get way more stable connection and faster speed on 3G. if i set to both on the connection drops every so often and takes a while to latch on to H

as far as i know on telecom set both to ON to get H+ and 8Mbps woo hoo ... but on Voda there is no H+ only H. but if you set it to only H then H never comes on only 3G. as far as I know the speeds should be the same H vs 3G ... but because my connection is so crap there is no point testing to confirm that last statement ;p

Not entirely - there is H+ in the CBD. . . . Anyhoo, I think you should start with a newer modem, and let the speeds auto-negotiate as they should. . . . Your current modem is pretty old now.

I have been running LP6 for a week now and wont be going back to GB any time soon if ever

Tried the stock rom but touchwiz's bad outweighs it's good imho, so tried Westcrips V.8.6 rom which wasn't bad bar a couple of pita issues i think caused from the LPA kernel. Last night i flashed westcrips V.9 which by comparison is liquid smooth, its too early to confirm but this feels like it could be a solid rom

I would be very keen to hear your comments on the ROM as I am about to have a crack at an ICS ROM.

So far so good, most would happily live with this as a daily driver, not quite as polished as checkrom HD on 2.3.6 but I'm more than happy and it will only get better

I'm running FixeRom LPB (from DarkyRom) at the moment, nice to be back on the dark side...
It's very stable, no fc's at all. There is a known issue withe the new LPB kernel, but there is a simple fix for it. He hasn't messed with much, so it's pretty much a Samsung rom with basic custom tweaks and some apps removed. I'm using the Nova launcher now, more configurable than Trebuchet and I love the scrolling dock with folders. While the theme leave a bit to be desired (really Samsung - WTF??) it's a great rom.

Have you had any problems connecting to your phone via USB since installing this rom? My samsung_android driver fails to install and  as such I can't connect at all. Tried a reinstall of Kies etc but no luck :(

Running this rom with no issues. very happy to use as a daily driver. Did see the unsucessful driver install message once but went into the usb settings i think to fix and it instantly came up with the "connect as usb storage" message on the phone then it was away flying.

XXLP6 gives much better speeds now latching onto H+ in CBD you're right! 5Mbps down 3Mbps up!
But inside buildings reception is still poor, however this is a known fact due to the shorter wavelength of the voda signal ... let's see how I live with this :)

thanks for all the advise really helps make the best out of it :) now ... telecom when are you responding to 2degrees ??!!!
