I ordered one around Tuesday 11pm so didn't think I'd still be in with a chance, but happily had the following nice email from Adriatica this morning: "Many thanks for your order. These have been very popular in the last 24 hours! I have run out of stock but managed to get a few more, so hopefully i can send this out to you late this afternoon, otherwise it wont be until tomorrow."

You guys (and girls) all got exceptionally good deals on these. Looks like I caused a bit of a run on them, but they can't have much of a margin at that price. I'm bit gutted that I paid nearly twice as much when I got mine but hey, it was worth it at the time and I don't regret it. They're certainly much better than the nasty cheap ones I had been using. Mental note, I must remember to never look at prices again after a tech purchase... If anyone else spots good deals please don't be shy in posting them! Just to follow up on my post about getting an ICS ROM on the S2 so I could get Chinese, I experienced some strange behaviour last night. Now this could be because I am not experienced in flashing ROMs We had downloaded a bunch of games from the market including Angry Birds, Talking Tom(!) and Big Mama (cooking game). They appeared to work okay so I turned off the phone and left it. But the next time I fired up the phone it hung during startup and then I received a message saying Sorry but Big Mama (whatever) has stopped responding and to choose cancel or stop (or words to that effect). But neither button was active and then the phone would reboot. This went on and on even if I removed the battery and rebooted the phone. It's seems strange that an app would startup when the phone is rebooted. I did try to go to the Apps setting and delete the App but that just hung the phone also. I then decided to reflash the ROM and that worked fine. But on startup the same thing occurred. I guess Odin keeps all the settings when you reflash a ROM. I hadn't realised it before but when I initially flashed the O2 ROM, I did not have to re-enter my wifi keys so I presume Odin had preserved the phone settings. Similarly when I flashed the HK ROM I did not have to re-enter keys. Some more searching and I discovered that I should have done a factory reset before flashing a new ROM. So rebooted the phone with the volume up, menu and power button, chose factory reset (there was no data to be lost) and restarted the phone. This time it started up in Chinese with the (I guessed) initial setup and agree options you see when you startup any Android device from the factory. Setup the Google accounts, wifi (now it had remembered the wifi WPA code) and downloaded apps. It seems to be okay now so perhaps my lesson is, when flashing a new ROM always reset the phone back to factory? Or is that incorrect? System One: Popcorn Hour A200, PS3 (US 60G) dead and now replaced with a PS3 SuperSlim, NPVR running on Sempron 3000 (XP), Sony BDP-S390 BD player, Logitech Revue, Pioneer AVR, JVC 56" D-ILA 720P RP TV System Two: Popcorn Hour A110 , Oppo BDP-80 BluRay Player with hardware mode to be region free, Vivitek HD1080P 1080P DLP projector with 100" screen. Not factory reset, but wipe data and devil cache. A bit like installing a new windows you would wipe that hard drive first. not sure how to do from stock but i have been using custom room forever and there is an option to wipe data from clockwork mod recovery mode.. Sorry, firefly someone else can expand

Sorry, firefly someone else can expand I think I saw those options when i did the Vol Up/Menu/Power startup. You mean Dalvik cache I presume? Does the factory reset do that? No i think it should be wipe data AND cache. Wiping the cache alone should be adequate, but its better than not weeping anything, but weeping data and cache is best. This is not the same as factory reset.

I'll start on my zip-hacking now, and should have results within an hour. Edit: I've done this too many times... It took less than 5 minutes to mod the zip. I'm doing a nandroid now, should be all done in about 15 minutes. nofam: Let us know how it goes! My first impression is that the teflon is gone. The rom is smooth, but not quite as smooth as 10.5 felt. Apex is a little more jerky when moving between screens. I think I might revert for now, as I didn't have any major problems with 10.5. I've just also noticed that the CWM app has disappeared. Looks like I'll have to boot into recovery the old-fashioned way. (I'll have to remember to make a copy of the one from 10.5, in case I ever need to put it back manually again.)
