Do you know what the phone's country of origin was?  Not trying to play 20 questions, but the country will determine which ROM you need to flash back to for warranty purposes.

That's a good question. Possibly Hong Kong. It was definately shipped from there.....I think lol

Have a dig and see what you can find out; it'll be pretty easy to find the most current firmware once we know what country it was from.

Foo: Got my new 2000mAh extended battery this week and have managed to get 12 hours life each day, with about 20% remaining. I'm running stock ICS 4.0.3.

Am using streaming music over 3G for about an hour each day, but fairly light phone usage during the day (couple of calls/dozen sms messages/little web browsing).

Guess I'm getting 2 - 3 hours extra usage versus 1650mAh battery. Well worth the investment, especially at the price.

I could easily get 36 hours from my 1650mah battery with GB!

So, uh, did you actually use your phone? I'm also on stock and haven't made any changes re: lowering screen brightness.

Actually, my phone has been running for 12 hours off the charger and still has 47% left on the battery, so that is pretty good. I've listened to about an hour of audio and made one short call a little browsing.

Hi There!

From 8am yesterday to 3pm today I have 27% battery left, I have called for about an hour, checked my emails (Set to Sync every hour + download on request 3-4 times a day).

Impressive! I have my phone set to sync pretty much everything. I use screen auto brightness too.

What ROM are you running?

Well with Wanamalite 10.9 I am to about 40 hours of battery life with moderate usage (No games or video) I see v11 is released, but I think I will stick with 10.9 for a while.

Nice one!  Are you using the default Chainfire kernel?

I'd advise people to stay away from the later Siyah release candidate versions - there seems to be a nasty, untraceable battery drain with it - I lost 9% battery overnight in flight mode. . . .battery indicator showed the phone being constantly awake, yet BBS showed no wakelocks, and CPU Spy showed solid deep sleep. . . .very odd!

I really would recommend the v11 WanamLite, based on KP8 - it's noticeably quicker and smoother.

Alright, I'll upgrade again, that's twice in 2 days. I don't change Kernels, whatever the ROM ships with is what I have.

I saw wanamlite 11 but am hesitant to upgrade because of the inclusion of the Social Hub and TW. Also I'm not sure why he keeps flicking between the Google/Samsung music app. The Google one has the handy widget on the lock screen which is useful to me as the main use of my phone is as a music player in the car and the office :)

I want to try the dual booting features Siyah has, with CM9 and Omega, but the battery drain reports are a bit of a worry. I still remember getting 1% drain over 6 hours sleep with Lite'ning roms mid last year!
I feel the CM9 camera isn't the same quality as the Samsung one so had to switch back last night. Being school holidays I've been using the camera a lot... I also missed the simple call recording integration. I couldn't find an app that worked as well as the baked-in recording the Samsung based roms have.

I really liked CM9 too...

Yeah, not too sure either, but it's kind of irrelevant; either pull apart the .zip file and delete/replace any application .apk's in the /system directory, or just use Titanium Backup to freeze/delete/restore as you see fit.

I used to use Phantom Music Control to control my music from the lockscreen. It's a great app and worth trying, especially as you won't be at the mercy of the devs.
Now I just use an unlock toggle directly into the player. Means one more action, but keeps the lockscreen simple.

Im getting about 1% battery drop every 3 hours, this is EXCEPTIONAL.

I have tested them all, i found darkys LPQ to be the best for stability/performance/battery

So torn, tell me what you are doing with your phone for 1% drain :) I don't like Darky, but 1% per hour is excellent.

Hmmm....might have to try that ROM out. I'm using Lite'ning ROM 2.7 with Siyah Kernel 3.1 rc5 and it's only about half as good as the GB ROM I was on before.
