DoggNZ: Hmmm....might have to try that ROM out. I'm using Lite'ning ROM 2.7 with Siyah Kernel 3.1 rc5 and it's only about half as good as the GB ROM I was on before.

As per my comment yesterday about Siyah, it was suffering from crazy battery drain, which has now been fixed in RC6 - it was Gokhan's implementation of BLNWW, which has been removed until it can be fixed.

On RC6 I've only lost 11% in the last 13 hours.

Life is mostly froth and bubble, two things stand like stone - kindness in another's trouble, courage in your own.

If you need a download-mode jig ASAP, you're welcome to borrow mine!  Works with SGS I/II/III.  I also have a SIM cutter available (Dunedin) - happy to post either to you at your cost.

+1. No battery drain issues for me with rc6 and Omega.

Found time late last night to finally flash Omega V10 and Siyah Kernel 3.1 rc6. So far so good.

Any update on the best modem for XT?

Thanks for that. Also want to try DVKF2.

Can't find a decent download repository for modems, only full official ROM's

Here are the three main I9100T modems used with XT.

If you have any other suggestions to add just message me the link and I'll put it in there too.

do you mean sleep battery life or on screen time battery life?

i cannot imagine how lack of 100MHz can improve battery life playing mp3 for example which probably only needs 25MHz (ok ok exaggeration perhaps but you get the point)

hence i'm stuck on siyah 3.1RC1 which has the 100MHz step. getting about 1% drain per 3 hours ish sleep.

screen time has been poorer than GB with any rom/kernel combo but i don't use my phone too much so it suits me just fine

I thought it had been established that the 100MHz step made no effective difference, that it was simply a pacebo effect?

on the other hand ... i guess it really depends on the voltages - if siyah programmed 100MHz and 200MHz to have the same voltage perhaps there is no difference, otherwise there will be some very slight effect when multiplied over 20 hours or so! (yes he does that to the GPU so i don't see why he won't do this to the CPU) although i have no understanding of CPU power consumption ...

and i guess we can't make 1600MHz to be stable on the SGS2 at full capacity - what a shame!

Has anyone installed Omega v11 yet?  I've downloaded it and stripping out the apps I'm not interested in.  Keen to hear from anyone who has installed already.  I've got to stop fiddling with my phone.  Need stability while overseas.  For me, Omega v9 has been really good.  If v11 gives me any grief I'll nandroid back to v9.  Cheers
