jeffnz: flashed V11 from 9 yesterday and all seems fine Neets, battery life is a lot better as well. I'm on blue black so a few cosmetic changes as well +1 for v11 ICS. I'm just about to start experimenting with Windows Live Mesh, Skydrive and various Android apps. 25gb free storage for photos and documents is pretty hard to turn down. Thanks Jeff and Lee. Have you kept the modem and kernel that was included? Will have to start looking around for a good modem for within the UK and EU. Yeah I know. What a really awful situation to be in. I changed earlier to siyah 3.1rc6 to see if its any better than the previous although the one with it (CF I think) was very good on battery. I'm just using the one included (LPS) which seems ok but I don't use calls much. I'll try a couple of the ones Lee posted as well and see how they go as I'm on XT but with a parallel imported phone Galaxy S3 Wanam 4.1.2

(yes he does that to the GPU so i don't see why he won't do this to the CPU) although i have no understanding of CPU power consumption ... and i guess we can't make 1600MHz to be stable on the SGS2 at full capacity - what a shame! From memory, when I was undervolting (typically a minimum of 100mv under stock), the difference between 100 and 200MHz made no appreciable difference. The 1600MHz frequency removal is due to the fact that many phones can't handle it and the owners then get very upset. Mine can't do it, about 1540MHz was my reliable limit. Apparently the changes between ICS and GB mean that it cannot be tweaked quite so hard. Sounds like there's some nasty business going on over at XDA with Gokhan's Siyah kernel; I'm having a hard time making sense of the Engrish, but it would appear that several users' phones are now hard-bricked after a factory reset? Possibly something to do with merging code from a Korean ROM? Might pay to stick with a known, good download of one of the previous release-candidates. . . .I wouldn't even recommend downloading an RC from his site, as he's not using any versioning for his test kernels (naughty little Gokhan!). I've been reading about siyah and did flash 3.1 RC6 last night but didn't wipe so i have the bad kernal but ok thus far. Problem is getting any sense out of people in the xda forum. All i want to know is it able to be fixed by flashing differant kernal or does that in itself do a wipe and brick phone. Or am I ok to just use the nandroid backup I made before flashing Omega V11 or will that do something bad as well. all these questions lol Galaxy S3 Wanam 4.1.2

The latest 3.1 (not RC6) has apparently fixed all these issues. I agree though, naughty little Gokhan for not using versioning. There were supposedly 4 or so different RC6's from what I understand after a quick skim over the last few XDA pages... I think CdTDroiD's got the right idea, stick with stock (lol, not that he needs my endorsement!!). It's always guaranteed to work. I had troubles upgrading to Omega 11 and ended up doing a full wipe but didn't do a nandroid backup (In fact I don't think i've done one since GB :O). I used the Siyah RC6 and haven't been as happy with it as RC3 (I think) that I was using before... It might be an interesting couple of weeks getting all the facts ironed out huh...
