I have found battery life on 4.03 to be a little worse than 2.3.5, however I purchased a 2000 mAh battery which really has added to overall life. I do recall that my battery life improved on my previous HTC Desire when moving to Froyo, so I figure a further release/update of ICS will bring some battery improvements. Any word on if there will be a further release of ICS for the SGS II? I guess a lot of focus will be shifting to the SGS III very soon...

Switched from Lite'ning ROM to Wanamlite 11.5 with Abyss ICS 3.2 kernel and so far so good. Togglilng Wifi, data and GPS now work reliably (so far) so that's an improvement. Too early to comment on battery life. DoggNZ: Switched from Lite'ning ROM to Wanamlite 11.5 with Abyss ICS 3.2 kernel and so far so good. Togglilng Wifi, data and GPS now work reliably (so far) so that's an improvement. Too early to comment on battery life. Try SIO/Abyssplug as your scheduler/governor, and set your minimum clock to 25mhz. Life is mostly froth and bubble, two things stand like stone - kindness in another's trouble, courage in your own. SGSIII ROM: WanamLite v1.3 Kernel: Ninphetamine v1.1.0 Modem: DXLEA SGSII (Now belongs to SWMBO) ROM: WanamLite v12 Kernel: Siyah v3.3.2 Modem: BVLPB SGS (Cat's chew toy) If you need a download-mode jig ASAP, you're welcome to borrow mine! Works with SGS I/II/III. I also have a SIM cutter available (Dunedin) - happy to post either to you at your cost.

That actually sounds detrimental. The voltage at 25mhz would not be very different from 200mhz due to the minimum voltage threshold of the chip. nofam: Try SIO/Abyssplug as your scheduler/governor, and set your minimum clock to 25mhz. Have a look at the AbyssICS voltage table on this page. Using the standard voltages (column 0) there's almost difference in voltage between 25, 50 and 100MHz (all 1.025V), and very little difference with 200MHz (1.050V). That being said, I'm really liking AbyssICS as a kernel. It's given me the best battery life so far, very close to what I used to have under Gingerbread. (When I finally find some time to play with compiling kernels, I think I'll use AbyssICS as the base, and then tweak in whatever changes from Siyah/NEAK/etc). CF-Root-SGS2_XX_OXA_KG3-v4.1-CWM4.zip Is this the file I would use to root the phone if I follow this guide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 It's been a while since I rooted my S2, and I am about to do my wife's phone and I just want to make sure I have everything sorted. My Kernel string is 2.6.35-7-i9100XWKG3-blahblah Is this the best guide to follow?

Well because I thought I had to have Root before I could flash. I did it anyways and then installed Wanamlite and it all seems ok!

Was running 4.03 when it first came out - had problems with the Touchscreen not unlocking on phone calls. Now running: Android Version: 4.0.4 Baseband version: I9000XXJVU Kernel version: 3.0.8-Semaphone_ICS_1.1.1s Build number: IMM76I ICS333-RC2 Appears to have no issues that I have discovered. Battery life much the same/better as the other builds I have tried (I dont load to many apps, no optimisers etc, just try to keep it clean) Does anyone know what the biggest battery you can get for one of these suckers is in NZ? Regards. David.

Have a look on TradeMe for the genuine Samsung 2000mAh one that comes with the back to match. Dont buy the ones that claim 2300mAh and dont need the different back. With the S3 about to come out you might be able to buy one off someone who is upgrading here on GZ. This is what you want but these guys are out of stock last time I checked
