NZtechfreak: BTW, did an endomondo track of my commute to work this morning - very accurate even in the overcast conditions today. Was using Navigation at the same time, tracking was perfect, even in quite a densely packed area of windy streets that always threw my SGSI for a loop.

Funny, the wind has never affected GPS on my SGS! :-)

Kilack:
kiwitrc: Thats 2 good reports of GPS tracking now. I ran to work with CardioTrainer on and I wasnt that impressed with it. As far as it was concerned I was running over peoples rooves, and crossing the road in a drunken fashion (thats usually Friday nights).

Might be the location of the GPS antenna as I had it on one of those armbands, so will try again with the phone in the car.

Ouch that doesn't sound too good.  Will be interested to hear if yours tracks ok in a car and also if the others that worked ok in a car work fine in the hand or arm :)

Just done a trip into town GPS was spot on even showed me centre of 3 lanes, so looks like the issue is with Cardiotrainer not the GPS.

I nearly missed a post on xda forums about this, and thought it a great wee feature.

SamsungDIVE

It lets you track/wipe/ring your Wave/GS/GS2 remotely through a web interface. It was able to accurately track my phone to a very accurate state in just a couple of minutes.

Can't complain.

I've tried Samsung Dive on my SGS after enabling Mobile Tracker in Location & Security but it says it's not available in some countries due to legal reasons and then won't track my phone.

I didn't try the tracker option, but it certainly found my phone through the web interface.

Looks like the SGS2 is very popular considering it's only been released in two countries so far..

"Galaxy S II breaks all Samsung records, scores 3M pre-orders"

Will wait for the early adopters to buy theirs first and let the price settle to something like the SGS1 is..

Yeah, it's completely smashed the iPhone 4 pre sales of 600,000 plus 1.7 million on it's first weekend.

It's a good thing I think :)

Just wish it had the VoIP/Cisco VPN on it that they said it would :(, unless I'm looking in the wrong place

I have moved across the ditch.  Now residing in Melbourne as a VOIP/Video Technical Trainer/Engineer.

Is the Cisco VPN actually labelled as Cisco VPN or does it go by another name?

Unless it's just hidden as part of the standard VPN settings, I can't find it either. Or Cisco WebEx, which was supposedly included as well.

And is anyone having troubles with their Samsung Apps app? Mine's showing that I have 2 updates available, but when I try to look at them it only shows 1 app, and that app isn't even installed. I don't want to install it either, as it's a demo mode app for retail stores.

I'm starting to think I might root the phone and use Titanium Backup to freeze (remove from the UI) this app and several others that either don't work in NZ or are so cruddy I'll never use them.

Spoof your Market with MarketEnabler to a UK carrier and you should be able to upgrade/install/uninstall. I had a couple of apps on my SGS 1 that were a source of irritation in the way you describe, but I read something (here?) that made the ME suggestion and it worked.

Also, Menu/Settings/Applications/Manage Applications might let you delete the data and or app to fix it, in the unlikely event you haven't tried that.

Cheers,
