Looking at the Chainfire root thread on xda ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399 ) about the SGSII.. Do I need to download the particular kernel version at the bottom of the 2nd post or so (ie the actual 'root')? The kernel version on my phone is i9100XWKE7, baseband is XXKE4.

What I am after is yes these apps allow sharing after resizing, BUT only for a single image. The moment you select two or more in that gallery/quickpic, options limit to email and picas and messaging. Yet it does not optimize file size for emails. It does for PXT, but i want to email them. My iphone 3G on the other hand, allows you to select multiple images from photos, and select send via email. It automatically scales down images to lower resolution and sends quickly. I use same yahoo mail account, max 3-4 photos are allowed to be sent over s2 as it lumbers around the 10mb (max email size) mark. Have sent 10+ from my iphone.. (normal image size 600-700 kb) Options seem like I take pictures in lower res beforehand, or transfer to PC and then resize and send or email one by one. All killing productivity! There has to be a way... just need to find out what it is. :) On another topic, this is supposedly the fastest phone (it is atlas for me!) but the gallery sometimes (intermittently) takes unto 25 seconds to show content, otherwise only loading... is this normal or could be linked to RAM and free memory management? If it si, should be it this slow? <100 images, no videos in 5 folders in the gallery. XWKE7 generic XEU f/w

ive joined the club! picked up a galaxy 2 from vodafone auckland cbd, such a beautiful screen, i think the size is perfect, coming from an iphone 4 to this is wow!

I'm currently on 22 hours use with 33% battery left. That's with about 20mins of phone call and a fair bit of tinkering. I've disabled all of the Samsung social-media apps which are known to be battery eaters though. They strike me as fairly useless, so no loss there. Hopefully 2.3.4 won't be far off which is supposed to fix most of the battery issues. Not holding my breath though :) br /> can someone point me in the right direction on how to disable these hubs. ?? one thing i haven't seen mentioned before ...and it's the only real issue i have with the phone. it's the over aggressive closing of music apps when using bluetooth headphones. if i have google listen, or google music, or winamp .... after a wee while .. the app closes, right in the midst of playing back audio. does it do the same thing for you wired guys?

If it si, should be it this slow? The default Gallery app looks pretty, but has massive performance & quality issues, hence why I try to use QuickPic as an alternative whenever possible. It doesn't look anywhere near as pretty, but it's faster, more functional, and displays a higher quality image. I also just found "JustPictures!" which integrates online accounts (Flickr, Picasa etc) into your gallery which could be handy - no resize option though. Looks like a handy app however. Have you tried any alternative MMS applications? The popular ones seem to be GoSMS, Handcent and ChompSMS. Maybe one/some of them will do batch resizing? You might've found a niche requirement, maybe put a request into the Android apps sub-forum over on XDA? "You are" = "You're" - Not "Your". "They are" = "They're" - Not "Their" or "There". You probably mean "lose" not "loose". There's no such word as "Alot". On the internet, wasting time, since '89.

Overclocking mine to 1300mHz made the gallery much faster to load, also made hi-def videos load instantly when there had been a noticeable delay before. It made no appreciable difference to battery life.

The Cognition 1.06 kernel update has made a noticeable difference in speed, and I only losy 4% overnight with 3g sync going. As someone here suggested a while back (or maybe it was XDA), the performance gains through tweaking ROM's will be limited with this device - the real gains will come through kernel dev. work. Life is mostly froth and bubble, two things stand like stone - kindness in another's trouble, courage in your own. SGSIII ROM: WanamLite v1.3 Kernel: Ninphetamine v1.1.0 Modem: DXLEA SGSII (Now belongs to SWMBO) ROM: WanamLite v12 Kernel: Siyah v3.3.2 Modem: BVLPB SGS (Cat's chew toy) If you need a download-mode jig ASAP, you're welcome to borrow mine! Works with SGS I/II/III. I also have a SIM cutter available (Dunedin) - happy to post either to you at your cost.
