Flashed to leomar75's ROM today - so far seems fine. A bit more complete than Cognition ROM (I was on 1.13, but nothing too significant had changed between then an 1.15).

How do you say complete? Could you give bit more info pls?
I'm on cognition 1.15 and only thing I can see is removed apps, toggle 3g and after scroll glow.

Fixed CRT off, lagfixed stock browser (but unlike the earlier Cognitions with lagfixed stock browsers it actually behaves well), call recording, the data toggle in the notifications area , customisable extended power menu, fixed bluetooth (I think some of these things are now in Cognition 1.20 also). Just more tweaks and improvements.

Just asking because ROM manager as an app claims those functionality but when installing cognition, the developer said it needs to go through cwm manually everytime when you install it.

Anyone know what's the easiest way to change to another ROM and if you prefer the old one how to get old one back?

Make a back up of your existing rom in cwm, this is a complete system image and is easy to restore. It's a good idea to do this everyone you flash something, just in case it goes wrong. I've got several now, with the older ones, different roms, now saved on my pc.

As far as flashing new roms goes it's a gcod habit to clear the caches, in recovery mode, and even perform a factory reset/wipe. If you make a titanium back up first this isn't as bad as it sounds and helps ensure a successful flash. If you still have problems it can also help to flash an earlier version of the rom you want, or even a stock rom. There are a lot of incompatible roms out there...

Flashed litening ROM last night (from 2.2 to 3.2), only issue I have had is with sound, can be rectified by plugging in the headphone jack. Was going to revert back to 2.2 but as Litening 4.0 will likely be released tomorrow, I might as well just wait for that.

I'm very close to taking the plunge with this phone and am half way through reading this thread...only 42 pages to go! ;-)

I'm looking at different sellers and wondered if anyone had experience with a purchase from Electron World? I'm looking for feedback (positive or negative).

I purchased mine recently through Eking.co.nz, though Electron world is cheaper, there seems to be a bit of uncertaincy with them. Like Eking they ship the product directly from HK so they don't stock any items locally.
Personally I preferred Eking because of their offer of repairs done locally. I'm not sure of Electron world policy.

All 'dropship' retailers should be purchased with caution though.

There's a relevant pricespy forum discussion on the same topic (new so can't post link sorry)

How do you change the file name format when saving photos from camera?

For instance, mine currently saves it as the time and date taken, but I like the traditional DCIM22, DCIM23 etc and not 20110725-1213.

I'd like to remove the crt effect for anything except full power off. It's quite distracting.
